Pairs Poetry Contest

Hi there! It’s Princess here, and I’ve decided to make a Poetry Contest! This will have a little twist though: you will be working in pairs! Each week, you will be put into different sets of pairs and you will be given a topic to write a poem about in your pair. Either you or your partner must submit your poem before the deadline of that week, otherwise both of you will be disqualified. Each poem will be given a score out of 20, based on the following: following the theme, using interesting vocabulary and making the poem enjoyable to read. Both writers will have that score added onto their score. By the time all of the participants have been paired with all of the other participants, each participant should have quite a high score. The winner is the participant with the highest score. The prizes are:
First place: 300 points, 3 gifts and 3 reviews
Second place: 200 points, 2 gifts and 2 reviews
Third place: 100 points, 1 gift and 1 review
The poem with the highest score will also be shared and both writers will win 50 points each.
I will be judging the poems, but if you would like to help me, then I am welcome to two more judges. Just say if you’re interested!

Entries should be PMed to me before the end of the week by one of the pairs. If I don’t receive a PM, you will be disqualified.
I will begin when I have 10 participants, or the time comes when I have enough participants and am bored of waiting. If we have an odd number, I will participate myself, but obviously the other judges will judge my entries. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask! In days of old, when people died
their family close at bedside
they'd cry and weep, but then they'd nod
'a good death' he surely had
one both complete and brave

And they'd recall memories
of times spent with joy
Ones that can't fade away with time

Their earthly life expended
still their impact lives on
in hearts and stories, in dark and light
in a spark of wisdom held by their kin.
