I read somewhere that knowing more than one language affects how you write. Apparently regardless of what the other language is, you will use less vocabulary and more complex structures. Specific languages will apparently influence you to make specific stylistic choices. I was wondering if someone could analyze the writing of people here to see if there are tendencies for people who speak other languages in general as well as specific languages. Also, if you speak any other languages and would like to be analyzed that's nice too. I would do the analysis myself but I'm not particularly sure what to analyze. I'll volunteer to get analyzed though. I speak German aside from English if anyone wants to analyze me. Of course, we need a lot more people than me to get statistical effects.
Und so lang du das nicht hast
Dieses: Stirb und Werde!
Bist du nur ein trüber Gast
Auf der dunklen Erde

(And as long as you don't have
This: Die and become!
You are only a gloomy guest
On the dark Earth)

- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Almost all absurdity of conduct rises from the imitation of those whom we cannot resemble.
— Samuel Johnson
