Hello internet! I am Astrophel, and I'm here because I have a desire to write and I actually want to complete something for once! So here's to my accomplishing that. I have an idea for a story...is there anywhere that I can get feedback on it perchance? :smt001

Hi! XD You can post your work in the Literary section by clicking on the Submit button on the top bar thingy. Although, you will need Points, I believe. Points are like the YWS currency ^_^ You can send gifts to other users, post your work and possibly do other stuff with points. I think more is coming. To get points you have to review, although I have recently read that welcoming new members also gives points ^_^ The bigger a review you write, the more points you get. I personally spent most of my points on gifts because I don't tend to write all that often, although I hope to change that ^_^

Complete something... Yes, I myself have completed very few works as of yet. But the one thing that I did complete and submitted to a publisher actually got published recently O.o

Anyhow, I am certain that you will enjoy it here XD This is by far one of the best sites I have ever joined, I must say. The community is awesome and rather unique. Perhaps you should enter the Chat Room and introduce yourself if you so wish ^_^ Although I find that it's often either too crowded or too empty.

Anyhow, welcome XD

Thanks Letiki! I was more looking for a place to get feedback on what my IDEA for my story is, rather than actually submitting it to the website. But I'll poke around and see what I can find

By the way, what did you get published? I'm incredibly curious! :smt001

Hi! Welcome to YWS!

Hmm, for the idea of your story? You could definitely try the Writer's Corner - oh! I think you already have - perfect!

Thanks, Meshugenah!

And to Demeter; I got the name from the sonnet by Philip Sidney of Astrophel and Stella. Astrophel means "star lover" in Greek, hence my choice of profile pic. Glad you like it! :D

Astrophel and Stella, eh? Seems like we'll get on great ;)

No but in all seriousness I love star names, not only is Stella my pseudonym, but the protagonist of my novel is called Astrid, and my favourite type of cell is an astrocyte! I've never heard Astrophel before, it's fantastic!

Anyway, welcome to YWS! What country are you from? We're really international here! And as mentioned- Writers Corner is the place for ideas, and YWS is all about feedback, so you've definitely come to the right place :)

Hope to see you around!

Hey Stella! I'm from the US, in a little old town called Mentor. Just by poking around the site a little bit I can tell how global it really is! Fascinating :smt001

Ohh, for a story idea... You might possibly ask around in Chat if anyone wants to give feedback on your idea... Or, PM me! I'll be happy to help XD

Stars... I am personally fascinated by space XD Just today I used my telescope to observe the moon and stars XD am fascinated by a certain kind of horror... And the desolate and colossal natuse of space a appeals to me greatly ^_^

Oh... One day our English teacher gave us an assignment, and I wrote a short story ^_^ Actually, I posted it on YWS. The teacher gave me a c... But apparently it was good enough to be selected ^u^ Interesingly, it appears that the majority of other online applications to that one magazine were declined ^_^

*huggles* Interestingly I appear to like people I don't know ^_^

Oh, and it is global! I personally am currently residing in Ireland ^_^ Happy New Year!

Welcome to the site! This is definitely a great place to be if you want to work on finishing your writing ;) Don't be afraid to ask anyone in Green or Red if you have questions! Hope I'm not repeating someone.

And anyone in orange (like me) is a "Distinguished Member" meaning we used to be mods or admins and now we're not, but we're still awesome. You can ask us questions too, but I'm out of the loop on a lot of things and might not be so helpful!

Hope to see you around soon, don't forget to stop into the chat!

Hello there, Astrophel. You seem to have been thoroughly welcomed, so let me just add a little something. Don't worry too much if someone seems mentally unbalanced.

Do you like science fiction? I just recently finished Citizen of the Galaxy which was pretty cool. It's by Robert A. Heinlein.

Thanks Stori!

Sadly, I don't read nearly as often as I'd like to. So I'd have to say I haven't gotten a chance to...but if you recommend it I'll definitely try to get a hold of it :smt001

The idea that a poem was a made thing stayed with me, and I decided then that I wanted to be an artist, not just a diarist. So I put myself through a kind of apprenticeship in writing poetry, and I understood even then that my practice as a poet was deeply related to my reading.
