Amica

I smile and sit on the edge on the edge of the bed. Taking his hand, I smile. "I love seeing you this happy." I say. Seeing the smile on his face made me smile. I think for a moment about what he asked me. "It does not really matter." I say. "I am fine with anything."

The air outside of the reception was cold, but not bitter kind of cold, more the warming kind... which makes little sense. Regardless, I find myself dwelling on that matter for little than a second or two, snapped back to reality by the comforting touch of Amica's magenta gloves. She fumbled down my arm until my hand touched hers, and she gripped it affectionately, leaning her head against my shoulder. Her fine, copper hair brushed against my neck, and I shivered as the delicate sensation rose the goosebumps on my skin. Amica gazed at me in curiousity and did her cute school-girl giggle.

After about five minutes of strolling through the soft white snow, we discovered a small little cafe, in which people sat inside, sipping coffee and hot chocolate and tea... it looked warm in there too. I turned my head and smiled at Amica, her beautiful eyes already looking straight into my own.

No words were said, it was an odd kind of mutual agreement that came with a relationship that lasted a long time, it was odd compared to mortals, when in fifty years they had grown wrinkles and voices became hoarse, while nothing really changed for us, in the physical manner at least. We entered the building and the torrent of warm air felt unnatural at first, but I quickly became accustomed to it.
Amica led me by the hand to a small table in the corner for two people, right next to a window that peered out onto the same frozen lake we had watched from out window earlier. As we removed our layers that protected against the freezing temperatures outside, I called a waiter over with a raise of my arm. As she removed her gloves, I held Amica's smooth, pale hands and rubbed them gently, once again smiling romantically without speaking any words, only eye contact formed the intimacy between us.

"Yes sir, may I help you?" The young, brown-haired man said as he approached the table.

"Well, erm, if you'd like to order first honey?" I grinned at Amica.

As we walk out into the snow, I feel it cold air kiss my skin. The soft snow crunches between our foot steps. It is a wonderful sound. As we walk, I kind Infelix’s hand and I grip it tightly and affectionately. He gives it a small squeeze and a smile perks in the corners of my mouth. I then lay my head on in shoulder. When I do, he shivers. I look up at him and let out a giggle.

After strolling around, we soon find a cozy little café. With out words, just a glance of the eyes, we walk in. I spot a table for two by the window so I lead him back there. We quickly take off our many layers of clothing, leaving me and a long sleeve brown shirt and my pink scarf. Infelix raises his hand to call a waiter over. Then takes my hand and rubs the top with his thumb. I smile again and gaze into his eyes with passion. We did not need to express our feeling with words. At times we did, but these moments did not need them. I could see the warm, loving feeling in his eyes.

The waiter arrives soon. “Yes sir, may I help you?” He asks coming over.

“Well, erm, if you'd like to order first honey?" He asks, smiling at me.

I return the smile and nod. I gaze quickly at the board behind our waiter, looking at all the choices. I quickly decide and tell the waiter. “Um, I would like the peppermint hot chocolate please.” I say with a smile.

The young waiter scribbled down Amica's order, then looked to me for my own. "And I'll have a... Cappucino, extra cream please," I said, following quickly with a nod of thankful dismissal.

"Your drinks will be ready shortly," he replied, pocketing his notepad and turning awaym off to prepare the drinks, or wait another table. I watched him go on his way, and then back to Amica again: she was gazing out the window again. I suppose I'd underestimated how little time we'd spent together, intimately I mean, our deep involvement with our work was what came with being a detective, and it wasn't uncommon for either of us to get carried away in chasing leads.

This was our time to spend together, to make up for all the time we had said 'maybe later' or 'when I get the time'. This resort was what we needed to get away from the things that got between us, and now was the time to start appreciating it. Following dinner, we'd go back to the room and grab our skates and head out onto the frozen lake, and skate around, hand in hand for as long as it took. Then it'd be back to the room for whatever happened next; this holiday was not for planning, but what we wanted to do.

"Y'know, Amica," she turned her head to me, "it's times like these I wish I took the time to admire your eyes so much more than I get to while we're working," I flirted with a smile.

I smile and take his hand again. I do not know why, but I still blush whenever he says smothing like that. The relationship Infelix and I have is special. Every kiss we share is as passionate as the last, the words still have meaning and my hand in his still gives me that warm feeling. Our love never fades away, it only grows stronger.

The waiter brings us our order and leaves us our bill. I take a sip of my hot chocolate and it burns my tongue. I set it back down and wait for it to cool off. "I am glad we have time to do this. I did not know how much I missed spending time with you."

Amica was right, it was very important for us to spend quality time with each other to make sure our relationship stayed fine. The tender warmth and golden light gave the cafe a very social atmosphere, but not an intimate one. Amica and I needed some time alone, and once we'd warmed up with our hot beverages, that wouldn't be too hard to remedy; Amica adored skating.

I gazed down at my drink, the creamy whit froth acting as a blank canvas for the snowflake shape stencil; this resort's staff truly put their effort into making every thing classy for the tourists. Amica sipped her drink a bit too early, and she winces slightly as the liquid burns her tongue, right away my hand is upon her resting forearm, soothing her and making sure that she is okay. She smiles at me, and I lean forward and kiss her on the lips, before sitting back and sipping my own cappuccino, as the chocolate dust dissipated into the mixture of coffee, water, milk and sugar.

"Do you have any ideas for what you'd like to get up to tomorrow honey?" I asked with sincere interest- I had no idea what was on offer in this resort, and chances are that Amica had read countless minds as we walked through the snow. I leaned forward to listen to her reply.

The Intense feeling I get when he kisses me is indescribable.I smile as he he pulls away, but part of me is sad because I want more. He asks me what I would like to do tomorrow and I think for a moment. "We could try skiing." I Suggest, shrugging. "Oh and after that we could go to one of the hot springs." I say. "There is also there is a chair lift to the top of the mountain where you can see everything. I bet that would be beautiful." After that I stop, not wanting to overwhelm him.
