I based this off some fanart of that Rapunzel movie, but I've never seen it so I didn't really know the context, lol. I just loved the pose so I turned the characters all anime like and made it so they were sitting in a tree.

Image

I messed up a bit with the layers... the tree branch is supposed to be all brown, like how it looks to the right of the girl. Not all multiple colors.

Oh, and I did this all in watercolor and then edited it digitally.

The good news is we can't make any mistakes.

Wow I love how you did the hand. Haha. My hands are usually crippled or something hahaha. Not good. And is this based on the new rapunzel movie from disney, with mandy moore? Cos I loved that movie. Was awesome.

But anyway, this is so good. My characters I try and draw always turn out disjointed and weird. I've been practicing though haha. And I'd like to see the original watercolor. I've done one proper picture in water color and it was only small. My second attempt was a total fail and i havent gone back to it since haha.

You're so talented tho. :)

Hey, blacksheep. Sorry I disappeared for a while. I've been very busy. By the way, you've improved a lot. I don't find any mistakes in it. I think you should frame this. It looks so beautiful. The color combination is perfect as always. The hands were neatly drawn and i don't see any overriding lines anywhere. This could even be a comic book cover or something. It's just that amazing. I mean I'm just like... wow! I hope you keep practicing. Chow.

Aaarghyou'veimprovedsomuchit'ssobeautifulIneedtopostsomeofmyarttoooooo~

*ahem*

So... opposed to a lot of people, I like to end on a positive note and start out with improvements. Main things: hands, clothes. The left hand of the guy is a little strange. It's like the opposite of the right hand. The fingers of the left are shorter and the palm/top of the hand is a little too bulky. If the palm/top of the hand was shorter and you gave that space to the fore-arm, I think that'd be better. But it's hardly noticeable.

The girl is another story. I love the expression on her face, but her hands are not very well defined from her arms and the fingers seem to dissapear. But I'm pretty sure you know this already ^_^; Also, even if she's relaxed and slumping a little, her shoulders should be a little broader

Clothing/Body. The girl has no hips! It seems as though her legs come straight from her stomach. Well, I guess since she's pretty short and her dress is puffy... I don't know. Just something to think about.

The guy's right side looks a little funny. I know the piece has the whole storybook picture going on, but even his shirt is very stiff where it connects to his right arm.

I guess that's all. I'm sorry, I'm reeeeally rusty at reviewing (haven't reviewed anything for such a long time...) Bad Dai!

So, on to absolutely glomping your artistic talent!!!

I love the storybook picture-type feel of this, it fits so perfectly with Rapunzel. I love the guy's kind of innocent/excited look. The texture is awesome and the background and exaggerated stars really follow the theme. Sooooo awesome! I do get the feeling that maybe an all-brown tree branch would have worked better, but then again maybe the green and purple make it look really magical...

Did I mention how much you ROCK?? I love the texture and colors you've been using in your new pieces!!! I can totally understand why somebody wanted to buy it!

So... I hope this was helpful. I'll try to get back into a reviewing habit!!

P.S. Since I've reviewed this, I now get the privilege of 'liking' the topic :3

I agree about the hands, but I had a little problem with the guys right hand as well, his fingers seem twice as long on that hand.

I love the expressions you created for both char, really have to stress that. You did a fantastic job with both of their expressions, so much that they stand out most among the simple, storybook style, which I imagine was your intenct.

Have to say I LOVE the texturing of the clothes (clothes themselves are simple, but the fading, shuffled color scheme works brilliantly) and of the sky.

I find it amazing how much you've improved in the areas of texture and background work.
