I'm Katie, I'm 19, and I've been writing for basically ever. I love meeting other writerly people so that's pretty much why I'm here!

Hmmm about me lol. Whelp:

As anyone can probably tell I'm a bit of a BBC fan. I live for Doctor Who marathons and I watched both seasons of Sherlock in roughly 3 days. 10 will always be my Doctor<3

I'm a sophomore in college dual majoring in Creative Writing and English Language and Literature - I'm a lit geek on all sides! I'm contemplating minoring in women and gender studies but have not officially decided yet.

I'm an anime fan and I'm not afraid to say it. I simply love amazing stories and anime is full of them. I actually get a lot of inspiration from some of my favorites. My all time fave would have to be Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

I read many genres - just about everything except romance I guess, though I'm not a huge sci-fi fan (weird, ik). Some of my favorite authors are Tolkien, John Green, and Suzanne Collins.

I have written mostly epic fantasy previously but I'm exploring into urban fantasy with my newest project and I'm so very excited for it!

Oh totally agreed on 10 being The Doctor by the way. I've been watching re-runs recently, along with Torchwood, and he was just awesome.

And eeek women and gender, very cool! My friend Laura would hug you to death. I did a few gender modules myself and rather enjoyed them, though I have to admit I'm more interested in unruly subjects and satire or war modules. Oh and creative writing of course ^^

I've seen some of Fullmetal, it was cool. My little sister is always trying to get me to watch another version of it that there is or something, though I've not got 'round to it.

You should try reading Ender's Game! It would change your opinion of sci fi forever, as it's actually a very fun genre.

Its probably Brotherhood she's trying to get you to watch. Fullmetal Alchemist came out first and has its own story completely different from the original story in the manga. So once the manga finished they made Brotherhood that told the manga's version. I haven't finished the first one yet but I've heard its really good too.

I really want to do women and gender studies its just whether or not I have the time and credit space what with already dual majoring and all. I really hope I can though:)

I will have to look it up! I like some sci-fi (shameless Sherrilyn Kenyon fan<3) I suppose it just depends lol. Weird since I love Doctor Who and all. I guess it might just be because fantasy got to me first, haha. My Dad read me The Hobbit when I was little instead of Cinderella.

I'm sure you'll have the credits, if not right away then certainly in your last year. I don't know entirely how it works where you are but I'm in the UK and I double majored (Creative Writing and English like you) and I still managed to do a wide variety of modules.

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm a fantasy lover all the way, heart and soul. I'm writing fantasy at the moment and I love mixing it with satire. But sci fi is pretty cool as well. Sci fi, historical and comedy are all tied for second place.

Oh if you're a historical fiction fan might I suggest The Blood Confession by Alisa Libby. Its one of my all time favorite books. Its based on the story of Countess Elizabeth Bathory who is commonly known as the Blood Countess. Its a GREAT book. She wrote another one called The King's Rose about one of King Henry VIII's wives trying to survive the marriage. Its pretty good too but I didn't love it like I did the Blood Confession.
