Manga-styled boys

I spent like almost all day yesterday drawing and these are what came out. Completing a picture takes me so much longer than it used to, but it's much more fun now that I kinda sorta know what I'm doing ^_^

I thought I'd post some of the sketches and in-process stuff just for fun.






this was the original sketch for the dudes in the first pic. Obviously, that chick never made the cut x) The pic is upside-down because I'm a dummy and still can't figure out which end of my scanner is which.

Let me know if you like these! Most of my guys look girly when I draw them, so I'm still looking for suggestions on how to fix that!

Yeah. In the first "sketch" pic everythings okay as far as "guy-liness" goes. But the first pic (the final) the guy in the middle looks like a girl. For the second and last pic, your problem is the pose. they're very girly poses.
I usually have the opposite problem....my girls look too manly, so I don't know if I'm much help. Just work on the poses and sharpening the features.
Other than that looks okay.

Good going in there!! I liked all of those guys and you have done them well. And as for your guys having a girly touch. You can change that by drawing the shoulders a bit more broader and then again you can draw their face a bit 'angularly'? Like sharply cut stuff. Anyway, giving a broad chest and 'delicious' collarbones help too. Just a tip- make the length of hair at the back shorter than the rest. It helps.

Heya! I just saw your drawings and since I have to work on poses a lot in my comics, I can give you a small tip. The first pic is my favorite. You know I like the ones that are most colorful. =P The clothes, the eyes, the expressions, all manly. Good, you're getting the hang of it. And the second and last pic: well its a still picture and it seems to me like you've drawn a walking pose, maybe. But what you can try to do is put his hands behind his head. (It's a difficult pose but with some reference from photos you can do it) Or you could just put his hands in his pocket. You should try what Erza said, it'll also help improve the drawing a lot.
By the way, I love your fashion sense as always. Whether it's a girl or a guy, you make sure that they're looking thier best in the clothes you draw. I'm talking about the first pic again. The guy in the middle has awesome hair. It's dark but the blue shine on the strands of hair gives it the best touch. The only thing off here is the shoulders. (ONly the middle guy) I see that you ment to expose the left shoulder but it should be just a little bit lower, I think. Overall it's got me staring at it again and agian.
In the third pick as well, even thought it's upside down but the shoulder still seems off. The rest of the characters are very neatly drawn. I'd give you a 100 out of 10 for the shading.

I love the way you draw them already! But to make them more manly, work on the angle of thier jaw.
Just practice, play with the features, until you get something you like.
