When you listen to music, do you listen to the music (including the pitch of the voice) or the lyrics? I've always wondered. My mum and I listen to the music only for some reason.

I pay attention to both, but I lean more towards lyrics because I like to sing along terribly while driving.
Semi-related to this, you should check out Bad Lip Reading if you haven't already. He changes the lyrics so it looks like they're singing it but they make no sense. He also changes the tune so it seems like a catchy pop song (heck, most of his mixes are better than the originals!).
