Gonna shake things up a bit to get people commenting again.

Crow

I burst through the heavy doors into the palace's throne room. The palace guards had been easy prey; their blood smeared the front of my clothes, dripping onto the hard marble.
"Hellseer!" I shouted, the sound echoing off the cool stone walls. I inhaled deeply, sniffing out the scent of magic. The King's dark miasma beckoned from the adjacent antechamber.
I grabbed the handles of the large doors and gave them a probing tug, but already it was clear the doors were locked. I took a step back, then ran full-on into the hardwood, smashing through it and spilling into the next room.
Before me, the King stood with two others; a young woman, and a werewolf. Another man knelt before him; by the look of his attire, I judged the man to be a member of the resistance.
"Greetings, your majesty," I cried, abandoning myself to bitter sarcasm entirely. I bowed low, furthering the insult.
“Who is this slime?” the King turned to the girl beside him and mumbled something further, but I decided not to overhear- I didn't want to spoil the fun just yet.
I wandered over to a fruit bowl, selecting a ripe apple. There was no way for me to eat it, so I simply tossed it from palm to palm.
“This is a wonderful castle, you worship. A little ostentatious for my tastes though. That tapestry would have to go, first of all.” I strode across the room and grabbed the exquisite cloth in my gauntleted hands, ripping it free from the wall.
“And this vase next to this statue? Never.” I picked up the bowl and smashed it against the wall, then toppled the statue with a solid shove.
“Enough!” the King finally spoke out against my slow destruction of his private collection, “What is it you want, cretin?”
I wheeled about, striking the King across the face with the back of my outstretched hand.
“I am Crow. And I have no King.”
With that I turned and left, ignoring the angered outcries of the palace guards as I did so.
At the end of the day, when the sun is gone and the light is lost, the shadows will play.

I saw it all through the King's demonic eyes, the captured resistance soldier, the bursted hardwood... the eccentric and impulsive man that had just made an extremely dangerous gamble for his pride, the stakes: his life. It humoured me to hear the outraged King summon more guards to aprehend the extraordinary fighter, even more so when I saw the faces of the horror-stricken guards as they noted the blood of their fallen comrades on his clothing. There was a feeling I had, a powerful one. An important one.
"He is the one," I chuckled deeply, the screams of tortured souls echoing my speech. "This man will release me from these infernal chains. However, I must find a way to communicate with him."

I closed my eyes and channeled the infinite amounts of energy through me, I hoped it would be enough to break through the divine boundaries used to trap me within this hell. A sepia vision replaced the sights of flames and demented souls. I saw blood, lots of blood. And a figure, oblivious to the yelling and carnage left in his wake. He stopped suddenly. He felt my prescence. The invisible chariot I controlled rode to his mind. "Go to the blood-quartz pillar. Go to the blood-quartz pillar. Go to the blood-quartz pillar," I repeated into his subconscious thought.
I ceased and returned the power to my body. I hoped that this would be enough to summon him to the location mentioned, if he obeyed then I could adress him personally. Finally, freedom would be mine.
Laments of passion
Obstructed by fear.
Under guises of jovial chatter;
Incredulous hopes
Steadily feasting away-
Eating away at my heart.

A dark shadowy form slides across the wall towards the demonic man that had threatened the king. The shadow peels away from the wall and attatches to the man as his shadow now, no one ever noticing that one of the king's top guards was for sure to get back at the man for ruining many things and actually striking him across the face. The other guards back away letting the man leave still shocked by the sight of the blood on this demonicly insane man.

Crow

I followed the road out of the castle, eyes ahead, ignoring the cowering guards. I appreciated their intelligence, if not their gaul; an attack would be as good as useless.
I followed the road until it became a dust track, until the world was illuminated only by the light of the moon. With no requirement for food or water, I pressed on, entering the foothills of what would become a ridge of mountains.
I breathed deep, entertaining myself with the thought of drinking the soul of my passenger. Poor fool; I had smelled the magic they drew upon from the moment they slipped into my shadow. Still, it was a long way to the blood-quartz pillar- I would dangle the carrot of success before my parasite a little longer yet.
I mounted the crest of the first hill and turned to look down upon the villages I had left behind. Each one had been more pathetic than the last.
The castle was now just a mere dot on the horizon. I spat laughter at the thought of returning there. I had no doubt that the welcome would b a warm one.

I stared after the intruder for a few seconds, wondering if I should go and track him down. I decided against it, though--I had seen stranger things than him, and the human rebel had quickly recaptured my attention.

"Wymark, what are you doing with that?" I asked the half-dragon. I didn't really listen for his reply, though. I was busy examining the human. He was brave; I had to give him that--still able to stare defiantly at Wymark, despite the beating he'd taken. He came to the rebels' tavern sometimes--I'd never spoken to him, but I recognized him as the one who would hassle the barmaids.

"Going to question him, or not?" I asked Wymark. I fiddled with the katana that sat on my left hip, itching to draw it and take a swipe at the human. Of all the rebels, I respected his type the least--they couldn't seem to stay away from the barmaids, or any girls, for that matter. I had actually fought one of them a while back--severed his hand, right in the middle of the tavern. They were the scum of the human race, and although I usually didn't kill, I'd deal with the mess for this one.

Crow

I drew in a long breath as first light broke on the horizon. I could smell the residual energies of the Blood-quartz Pillar now; soon I would be upon it.
I stopped in the middle of the path and sat cross-legged on the beaten dirt.
"You may reveal yourself to me now, stranger." I spoke aloud, well aware that my parasite was still firmly attached. I waited for a response but none came.
"Very well. This shall be done the hard way."
I reached into my robes and brought out a piece of flint and some iron pyrites which I had collected along the way. Rising again, I strolled from the path towards a small thicket of brush. With my free hand, I drew my sword and hacked some dry wood from the nearest bush, laying it out before me.
I sat again, burying my sword tip-down in the soil. Arranging the wood into a rough pile, I began to strike flint against iron, creating a spark which, after a few failed attempts, set the wood to smouldering. I encouraged the flames to spread, firelight slowly building in time with the rising sun. When the flames reached an adequate intensity, I took hold of one of the branches and wrested it from the fire, thrashing my back until the screams of my shadow were audible.
I laughed.

I screech in pain as the flames burn me. I pull away and shift into my more human form growling and hissing in anger at the man.

Crow

I laughed as the creature writhed in pain, taking human form before me, but hissing in the manner of a scalded cat. My robes smouldered, shrouding me in smoke. I stepped forward, still holding the flaming branch. The intruder jumped backwards, still hissing.
"Perhaps we might talk?" I asked, tossing the burning wood to one side, "Who's company have I had the pleasure of these many hours?"
The figure was silent; not talking yet, but not hissing either.
"Vera." she spoke at last. I suppose I might have smiled, had I had a mouth, though only to draw her in further.
"Crow." I tipped my battered, conical hat in her direction. "Tell me, Vera, why you have invaded my person?"
"You struck the King. It is treasonous to-"
"Treason can only be committed if one believes the victim to be their King." I cut in, drawing a snarl of anger from my opposite number; "I do not."
Vera's muscles visibly taughtened at my words. I laughed, and pulled my sword from the ground, toying with it in my gloved hands.
"You will pay for what you have done, Crow!" Vera shouted, the fuse of her temper growing ever shorter.
"Now, or later?" I stoked the fire beneath her feet, eager to gain a reaction.
"Now."
I bowed low.
"Your move."

I flex my claws awaiting his move first then would I attack and only then. Though I might wait awhile since he looked like the kind to wanna toy with his prey then once grown bored of it would simply kill them. "Your move first." I nod to him while keeping an eye on the flames in front of me.

Crow

I spun my sword, scattering sparks from the burning wood at my feet into the eyes of my attacker. She recoiled, blinking. I capitalised on my advantage, dancing about her and delivering nicks to her skin, causing pain but no damage. She would have to do better to invoke a reaction.
She lashed out with a clawed paw, ripping into my arm. The fabric bonded together as quickly as she damaged it, and I saw the look of horror in her eyes.
"Is it not clear you cannot win? Back down, kitty, save your pride."
Vera responded with another bout of hissing, jumping forward to claw at my face. I levelled my sword, catching her on its point and running her through.
"I hope they have good healers back at the castle, kitty-cat, but it's a long walk. I don't fancy your chances." I wrenched the sword from her gut, eliciting a wheeze as the woman slumped to the ground. Whether she lived or not was irrelevant to me. I continued down the path to the Blood-quartz pillar.

Spoiler
Demora, your character is not dead (unless you actually want her to be, of course). Either find a way to get home or follow me to the pillar, I will help you out.

I pull my hand away from the wound but there was no blood. I laugh at this then turn Shadow and continue to follow Crow. *I cant believe he thought he could just kill me and be over with it. How pathetic of him.* I think to myself chuckling quietly.
