Deus Ex Machina (God in the workings) - Sudden, highly improbable event/character brings the story to an unlikely conclusion. Example: Paul and Mary were surrounded by ravenous zombies. Escape was impossible. As the zombies closed in upon them, a UFO materialized that promptly teleported them to safety. As they watched it fly off into space, they realized someone out there cared about them.
