The NaNoWriMo Club

Just like Christmas, NaNoWriMo only happens once a year. And even though we do have a forum set up for it, why not give all of the YWS NaNoers a super special club all our own.

Hi everyone, me and @CaptainJack have been working on some possible stuff for PlanMo, YWS's month long planning event. We're just wondering if anybody is planning on actually doing NaNo this year and thinks they would benefit from this. It's honestly no bother. We already had most of the resources, would just have to roll it out.

    Let us know!

I know this is sort of late, but if there is any chance that you are still offering any of your PlanMo materials? I would love to check them out if you still have them.

Well, I finished Nano and just wanted to say Congrats to all those that did, and to those that didn't, Don't Give up hope! Writing a novel in a month is an incredibly tough thing to do, and if you didn't finish, this doesn't mean that you didn't try, or that you're not a good author, or a good writer. The thing is, you need to fail to succeed. Not finishing this year could mean finishing way ahead of the pack next year. It could mean new ideas for your next novel. It could even mean inspiration for the next time Nano rolls around. So don't get discouraged, and don't get stressed. Think of your writing as a lifestyle, not as a chore!

Right on schedule. As long as I don't die between now and then I think I'm good.

    I made it already!

I can't believe there's only 10 more days!! I'm gonna make it, but I'll have to write nearly 3,000 a day to catch up.

    Vervain replied · Nov 20, 2014

I've made it already (and finished my first novel), but I want to make it twice over if I can.

I had to give up a couple days ago D: I have loads of really important stuff going on with school that affect my final grade so... yeah... D:

I feel you, man. Don't feel bad, though! There's always next year!

    Dreamer84 replied · Nov 19, 2014

I have the same deliemia. I am trying to get through to the end but it is not good. But just like Kindofeli said "there's always next time."

    Does anyone else do this?

I wrote my rough draft and then I typed it. But, my rough draft was only like 40 ish pages and my typed one is currently 68 pages. I add so much more detail!

    Is anyone else like that?

    kingofeli replied · Nov 18, 2014

Yep, and my teachers hate it, haha

    Day #18!

What song would you make the theme tune of your novel?

    Aley replied · Nov 18, 2014

Carry On My Wayward Son - This is never going to end T_T Kill me later, I don't have time for you to kill me now ^.-

Welcome to Day 16! (Or 17 if you're on the other side of the world :P) How are things going? Any new and unexpected plot points pop up, or did you run into some obstacles along the way?

    Deanie replied · Nov 18, 2014

My only obstacle would be finding time! I am 8000 words behind at the moment ><

    Deanie replied · Nov 18, 2014

And as of this morning, only 6000 behind now ^^

    Start writing!

    kingofeli replied · Nov 13, 2014

Yeah, probably. I'm at school though and my inspiration well is dry.

    Deanie replied · Nov 13, 2014

Keeping going! Nano isn't all about meeting the word count. It's about being a better writer and just doing the actual writing!

    artemis15sc replied · Nov 13, 2014

Even if you only get 1000 words and it's terrible (my first draft's always are) you've still succeeded.
