How did you get to be homeschooled?

    When I was five or six my family moved from PEI to BC, up in the mountains to a summer camp called Blue Lake. My dad was the caretaker, and my mom would sometimes cook. Since it was about two hours to the nearest town, and they didn't have a school, my brother and I had no choice but to be home schooled. I really, really love it though! I remember doing my math homework out on the lawn by my garden, or running off to play in the woods with my brother when I got mad. I don't remember learning to read... I think I've always been able to do that XD. I am very glad that I am home schooled, because that gives me more time to chase after the things I really like to do, as in writing =)

    No story for me. Home schooled + a couple days of private school a week is my life.


Way, way back in the 1988 Presidential election, then Vice President George H W Bush had a phrase he liked to use: "A Thousand Points of Light." It refers to the idea that a community is made up of people who contribute in a thousand, different small ways, but with each helping to illuminate their community. It's a phrase I think about a lot when it comes to YWS. Looking forward, the site will continue to change and grow, but it will always remain a community dedicated to promoting creative writing as a favorite pastime.
