Just as the title says, I'd like to know where to find good Christian fiction. By 'good' I mean 'something other than country romance' and 'stories that deal seriously with spiritual forces'.
A good example would be the movie To Save a Life. It doesn't pull any punches (in fact it begins with a suicide) but ends on a positive note.
So. Thoughts?

Pilgrim's Progress is a good place to start. It's an allegory though. It's a book by John Bunyan but they also made a good movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMxtoCydNDY

What's this? A small discussion? Why, this calls for a massive pile of text! I know of a handful of Christian fiction stories, so I'm going to throw them all at you because I'm cool like that.
For books, I've got:
--The Chronicles of Narnia (you probably already knew the allegories there, but all seven are worth a good read. And reread. And rereread. I'm not kidding, I find something new every time I read them.)
--The Dragon Keeper series by Donita K. Paul (fantasy, and I'm not sure if it's an allegory or a metaphor or just the same thing as Christianity with weird names or what. You'll see what I mean if you choose to read them, but the Christianity in them is strong and clear.)
--The Left Behind series(es) (there's two parallel sets). Actually NOT fantasy (which is somewhat surprising from me)
And for movies, I recommend Courageous, Fireproof, and one other which I forget the name of, but it's by the same people who made the first two movies. They're very realistic, and also encouraging and inspiring.
And that's all I've got. Good Christian fiction can be pretty hard to find sometimes - although I'm lucky enough to have a Christian bookstore in my town (it's called Mardels, but I'm not sure if it's a chain store or not). -
To add to the list- have a look at Auralia's Colors by Jeffery Overstreet. It's a fantasy novel with a rather interesting premise.

I've read those. I don't like them too much. They're a little corny. A problem with Christian fiction is that it's often REALLY corny.

Frank Peretti does Christian thrillers - his books delve into demonic possessions, and stuff like that. All biblically sound.

I like Frank Peretti's This Present Darkness. Iscariot by Tosca Lee is also a great book. Here are some of my own suggestions:
Real Life Series by Nancy N. Rue (Targeted towards teen girls, but the message is fantastic and not cheesy at all)

Katie Weldon Series is great for teen girls

God's Not Dead is a good movie as well.
