Where are you?

5 posts in this topic.

  1. We are all on different walks on life. We come from different places, have different views on different things. Where are you with your walk with God? We all contribute to conversations online here, but that doesn't give us an insight into our spiritual walks or how we are as Christians. Are you shining or are you struggling? How is your walk with God?

    No judging!

    Spoiler
    I'll say mine later
  2. Hmm
  3. Well I guess no else has responded so I'll try....

Well I guess I have definitively gotten stronger in my walk over the years. My family is completely Christian and it's what I have grown up with. I cannot give you an exact date, time, month, or what have you on the moment I choose to have Jesus as my own personal Savior. He just seems to just always have been there. I guess though I went through my childhood just going to the place on Sundays daddy and mom brought us. Then came Confirmation and it kind of settled a little more. Once I was confirmed I stuck with it. Then the summer after I was confirmed a very close friend of mine moved here so I got to know her. She was running from God and need him so bad. That is when I think I started to get closer and closer to God because I realized helping her meant getting closer to Him to know what to do. One day at a youth group she broke and that's when He became her savoir also. Since then she has been struggling and I have been trying to help. It's quite a test for me to stay where I am with my relationship when she is struggling so much, but I have fought it with prayer.

Then along with her I have another very very very close friend who I don't really know what she believes or what her stand is but she is pulling very hard sometimes in the wrong direction. A while back like in Oct. or even Sept. I was having a really really really hard time. I could sleep without these weird dreams and I just knew the internal fight being fought was somehow going the wrong way. I was at a friend house and I need to get away to a quite place with God to see if I could just get the sadness away. I sat down and randomly opened my Bible. I looked down trying to fight the tears back and saw I opened to 2 Corinthians 1:3-11. And if you don't know what that is; it's pretty much the God of all Comfort chapter. I just started to cry and honestly I could feel God's arms around me holding me and comforting me. It was so amazing how things like that work.

So after this I realized I need to get even closer to God, so I have been getting closer. But I also realized I need a good friend who I talk freely to and not have to worry about saying the wrong thing to make them mad or fixing there own life. God then gave me this wonderful friend who I never realized was there to be a good Christian friend. She has helped me though these problems that were pulling me away. Not only them but my parents have helped so much. My mom is like the best friend and person I could have ever met. It's amazing that I have her as a mom. Then my Daddy is a now a Pastor so I go to him when confused and need help. I love how God can work though the littlest things and bring my life to an ok point.

So I hope I'm shinning. I try to shine and walk close to God but there is room for improvement. But with you guys to give me hope and the people in my life, I know that I can get to know Him more than I could imagine.
  4. To be perfectly honest, right now I'm struggling. To say the least.

It's kind of weird; every now and then God is right there and I know Him and it's all okay, and then the rest of the time it's like He's gone. I pray and I don't feel like I'm getting responses. Sometimes I wonder if He cares, which I know He must but it's hard to believe.

I've got all kinds of issues going on in my life. I have this really creepy guy in my math class who scares me when he looks at me, and I don't know what to do. I can't write AT ALL recently, which is like being a bird that can't fly. I've had one stranger flirt with me recently - the first time - and another that I can't tell, plus one of my friends is touching me a lot recently - not inappropriately, but I get nervous. I don't even feel that pretty - I don't know what's going on. My twin brother, who used to be my best friend, is changing and now it's like he hates me half the time and the rest treats me like I'm not an equal. Plus we have finals this week.

I pray about all these things, ask for help and wisdom, and none of it comes. It's like talking to myself.

I've recently started losing interest in life. Writing, school, friends... it's all become hazy and blurred, and that scares me - but not as much as it should. Nothing affects me like it should anymore. The only time I really feel emotional is when I mess up at something and I start hating myself, and usually God helps me there, but again, it's like He's not there, or He's not listening, or something. Sometimes during those times I wonder if I'm depressed, but I don't think that's the case.

So... I don't know if I'm doing something wrong in my walk with God, or what's going on, but something's off right now. Sorry about the rant/ramble, but things are kind of messed up right now and I guess I needed to vent. (Plus the fact that my brother's on YWS and following me, so I can't post half of this on my wall without feeling really uncomfortable.)
  5. Interestingly, I've never had problems with God. I mean, I know and feel that He's always there and it's my own fault why my connection with Him seems to falter sometimes. The best thing is, when I 'reconnect' with Him, He's there. :)

To Ranger51: May I suggest you to not overthink? :) I'm not saying that you're overthinking but, it seems like you need to give your head a rest. Meditate, if I may say. If that's not it, then maybe try opening the Bible randomly like what JaneAusten did. Maybe that will help. It can get pretty 'interesting' sometimes. (xD) To add another suggestion, try eating chocolates, at least one piece a day. :D lol But seriously, chocolate can really lift up the mood, and probably, good mood can help you rise up again. Chocolate is a blessing from God after all. :D

(Sorry for the excessive use of emoticons. lol)

I am just curious-have I ever been on the bottom quote-thingy?
