When my grandmother was growing up, she went to a church where the preacher, who conveniently was the 'holy' one, basically told them that there was a big book that had all the names of the people that were going to Hell, and they were all in it if they did things like danced or ridiculous stuff like that. She said she was scared of God because that 'church' taught her that God hated her. They never even taught about redemption and the love of God.
Some churches aren't entirely correct. This doesn't go for most churches, but one shouldn't blindly follow a group just because they call themselves a 'church'. Just thought I'd bring it up. -
My pastor did a sermon on this. In short of the whole hour and a half sermon, what can happen is your "fire" (fire being your faith and belief) will go out.
