  1. An Introduction to our Online Class

What is Save Energy, Waste Paper going to do for me?
Now, we (i.e. Sunny and lucyy) have vowed to try and help you out in all the different troublesome aspects of writing by setting up discussions, assignments and maybe a few contests to keep things fun! What the assignments will do is they will cover a variety of subjects in where you can pinpoint and solve your weaknesses through your writing. During the discussions you will have a chance to talk to other members about how the subject of the conversation (for example, believable dialogue) can be improved and maybe even bounce ideas off of each other and have a chance to give advice or have advice given to you.

    Who are Sunny and lucyy?
We are both two dedicated members who really want to help you out with any problems you face in your writing. However, no one is perfect, so we’re always ready for any advice or ideas you may come up with for this group and we may even learn some stuff, as everyone can improve!! Also, if you have any problems or want to talk to us about anything, please don’t hesitate to PM us as we will always be more than happy to help you out!!

Do I have to do all of the assignments and contests you set?
The important thing to remember is that this online class is voluntary, so participation in any assignments or contests – or even discussions – is entirely voluntary! Our advice to you would be to always check out what the subjects are each day and if you think that that subject is the one you need to work on then you can go ahead and participate! Just remember that this class is voluntary and your participation is entirely up to you!!

What happens if I miss a deadline but I really want to do the assignment/ partake in the contest?
PM either of us (Sunny or lucyy) and something can be worked out – don’t hesitate to PM either of us, please.

If you have any more questions, post them here or PM either one of us =D.
  2. Just to let everyone know, I'm Sunny. :smt039 But my username is 200397, so look for that if you need any help. I know it's confusing, but it's really strange to call someone a number.

    Anyway.

    ~Sunny
  3. Sunny, I believe I prefer calling you 200397. It has a wring to it! xD
All I have to say is that you guys are doing a good job here. I believe this group will prove to be effective.

    I have one question though.
Is the different subject things we are going to be studying posted each and every day? Or is there a certain time space in between? I would just like to know, I have to keep mental tabs. Ha Ha.

  4. Call me whatever you want, Incog! :D

Good question. Lucy and I are still working on the kinks, but we think we'll take turns posting new info in the topics every other week, but keep a wary eye out because we might slip in something every now and then.

So I'll be posting part A in character development tomorrow, and then part B the next day. Then after that, Lucy will start on her plot development. Get it? :)

    ~Sunny
  5. Surely I do. ;3
I feel happy to be under you two's wing. xD
That is of course with like 50 other people.

  6. I know this sounds silly, but I don't have MS word on my computer. My dad lot the key code thing, and it won't open. I only have MS works word, so should I copy and paste my HW into the HW thread, or does MS works word open on your computer?
  7. You can download OpenOffice for free, and save your assignment under the '.doc' format. Or maybe Microsoft Works lets you save it under that format. *shrugs*

I really have no idea, but the only way to fond out is to try both methods! (: So add your homework attachment to your post and if it doesn't work for either myself or Sunny, then you can either copy and paste the whole thing into your post on the homewrok thread or PM it to us!! The only way to find out is to eliminate all possibilities  . I hope that helps you out, and don't worry! No question is a silly question, they're all valid here!! :D

  9. Is there any tips/ excercises I can do to improve my descriptions of people, and the areas and settings around them?

It depends on what you're looking for: physical descriptions, ways to introduce the characters, or simply explaining the scene?

Those are difficult questions to answer. My advice would be to practice mentally describing the things you see around you every day. Or you could do it on paper. People's physical descriptions also, and ways to introduce them. And as for the setting description, I would say to open your mind and try to relate what you're seeing to something it is not connected with. Example: Snow falling like pieces of heaven.

We'll be doing a class on this as well. I have more exercises in mind, PM me if you want to hear about them. I'll inform you when we start that part of the class. :)

I have MS Word too and it works for me. Under the reply window where it says 'Add an Attachment' and 'Browse', that's what I use.
  12. Are we going to have homework on dilogue soon? :D I really need the most help with dialogue as mine tends to be... quite static...
  13. You sure will!! :D I have a few assignments lined up for dialogue, but in the meantime why don't you check out the first lesson and maybe join in on the discussion? As that may be of some use to you as well!! :D

There are those who say that life is like a book, with chapters for each event in your life and a limited number of pages on which you can spend your time. But I prefer to think that a book is like a life, particularly a good one, which is well to worth staying up all night to finish.
