The Window Room

70 posts in this topic.

  1. Okay, if you don't get this just ask me to clarify. I'm kinda half asleep.

This room is filled with windows that can look anywhere. So, you go up to one and say something like, "Show me the Bogs of Murk in my world!" Or something like that. So, show us your world and where you live!
  2. Arcaus "WHA????"

    Hendrix "Sounds pretty good"

*Hendrix walks up to a window*

    Hendrix "Show me...Kitty's shower!"

Arcaus "Pervert...I don't remember you being this perverted"

Hendrix "Urm...thats because, i'm Hendrix's evil pervert twin, Rodreguez"

Arcaus "Hmmm...that sounds like something i would write, carry on"

Isaac "Who's that guy over there, he looks like he's being a pervert, for some reason"

Kitty "What the HELL Hendrix! I'm in the shower!"

Arcaus " His name is RODREGUEZ!"

    Kitty "What?!"

Real Hendrix "Keep it down, i'm on the loo!"

Kitty "Wait, you're in the bathroom too, stop being a pervert!"

Real Hendrix "Hey! I have an excuse...he's just a pervert"

Rodreguez "hey baby, ever kissed an evil twin"

Isaac "Don't get fresh with me you PERVERT!"

    Arcaus "So....many...Perverts"
  3. Okay, no using the windows for... evil and perverted things!
  4. Arcaus "Hey, that was a ETI"

    Kitty "What?"

    Arcaus "Evil Twin Incident"

    Hendrix "And besides, it was..."

    Arcaus "Rodreguez is gone now"

    Kitty "How?"

    Arcaus "I Re-vapourised him"

    Hendrix "RE-vapourised?"

    Arcaus "...It's complicated"
  5. Me: Well, keep it that way. Oh, and no evil clones, twins, or copies or near-copies of anyone. So just show us a bit of your world. Other than showers, bathrooms, bedrooms, etc., etc.
  6. James: Show me the City of Shaben. *A large mountain appears in the distance. Slowly as it zooms in you make out buildings erected on the sides, until you realize the whole mountains is a pyramid of connected builds* this is Shaben, the first place I went to on my journey. At the top used to be a large castle, Where Sharak once lived, but I blew that up. The City was a mostly Wizard inhabited place, with a few elves. But they mostly lived in the outskirts, near the Kinro mountains, which border the Loshi desert. After I lead a revolution the city expanded under ground as well, and out to the Kinro mountains. Slowly they have devolved more advance ways, unlike in the old cities where they were kept oppressed, and magic was banned, with special exceptions. The reasons the Elves were kept away were because they had spirit the wizards did not have. This actually the only place with life by the way. The humans of our world once con-existed on earth with the wizards and elves, but after the magic was used to enslave the humans, several wizards sent the other wizards and elves into this new world, which they’re now exploring.

Ryan: And to think, we are supposed to be a like. I will show you my piece later. Greedy writer wants max points for it, after that novel up there.
  7. Isaac "Show me...Kitty's shower!"

    *Kitty slaps him very hard*

Isaac "Ow! Fine then, show me...Kitty's panties drawer!"

*Kitty punches him in the face*

Hendrix "I hope that stasis syndrome wears off, but untill then i'll be entertained for ages!"

Kitty "I'm not a object of sexual desire!"

Isaac "Yeah, but your panties are"

    Kitty "Tell him!"

Arcaus "Keep up the good work soldier"

    Kitty "Ahhhhg!"
  8. David:*Ignores the fighting* Windows show me The Center. *A large dark gray building appears, fence stretches and twists to cover the building in a large dome of barbed wire.* Home sweet, home. Where I grew up along side other 'boys' even though they were different species. That's also where they removed most of my wing. I learned how to fly there. *sighs* I met Rain there before we were ripped apart. My deer girl, tough and strong. The Center may have been my home but I was scared from it. Forever. A place so horrible I just had to see it one more time.
  9. Sam: (walks up to a window) :show me the market.
    (Window changes)

Sam: Hey Alex remember that one time when we stole an aplle from that guy and he tried to kill us? Oh and remember when blah blah blah blah ...............

Alex: Okay who's bright idea was this? Now he's gonna go on forever...........
  10. *Charlotte rolls up to the window in her wheelchair and colonial dress.*

Charlotte: Show me my house and the orchards.

*The window changes to show a 1770s farmhouse with orange groves on the other side. A man and a woman walk up the path. The man is Walking a horse over to the stables.*

Charlotte: My parents. I hope their doing well.

    *She smiles.*

    Charlotte: Show me, Theo.

*The window changes to a graveyard. Charlotte laughs.*
  11. Show me my tree. The window depicts a three story house with everything made out of wood and moss.
  12. “Bridey what is this place were going to today?” Stefan asked.
“Uh, it is like an art gallery but its like filled with windows instead of pictures.” Bridey replied
“Is it a Salkite thing?” Lian asked as the horse drawn carriage pulled to a stop a block away from the Museum.
“Think so” Bridey answered. The driver opened the door the three friends clamoured out.
“Do you always get driven everywhere?” Stefan asked once they have walked far enough to be out of ear shot of the carriage.
    “Yea” Bridey shrugged.
“I’m not used to the city yet, are you Lian?” He asked
“Is not that different, my town Toknowan is hardly the middle of nowhere. It is strange being driven instead of flying when it’s too far to walk” Lian said “It’s also nice not having my siblings around all the time.”
“Yea, Toknowan is a bit bigger than Balis. The flying thing is strange here. In Balis everyone wears their wings almost every where. I think it’s because a quarter us make wings, and want to show them of, and also to prove that we’ve moved on from the Catith and the time of the trains. Here you only see people wearing wings if they are leaving the city.”
“You know I don’t usually think of how my life is like, how different it is to most people.” Bridey Mused.
“You’re lucky, you’re a Birdzi and can turn into a bird at the drop of a hat, your Mother works with all those important political people, your house is really cool and you don’t have any siblings. I wish I didn’t have any siblings Bridey!” Exclaimed Lian.
“Mm…. I’m not so sure, I mean I know…but well… I wish my Mother was…. Around more.” The three lapsed into silence.

“Here it is” Bridey gestured to an old sand stone building with a pair of pillars framing the wide doorway.
A short lady checked Bridey pass and ushered them through an archway into the world windows exhibition. “I hope you enjoy it” she said smiling “there will be a free tour at two fifteen if you are still here.”

The world windows exhibition tuned out to be a series of brightly lit rooms, white washed and with walls covered with windows on every side. A few people walked around talking in hushed voices assessing and discussing each painting as though a work of art.
    “This is strange” said Stefan.
"Come see this" Bridey took him over to a large bay window.
Lian just stood to the side of the entrance and gazed at the collection of windows. Pictures of many worlds surrounded them. While most were recognisable windows with blinds and curtains one was just a hole in the wall, Lian's mind told her that they should all be looking out to the same view but queerly each of them showed conflicting scenes. Standing out from the rest a bright pink glittering window looked out to a forest glade complete with snowdrops and a pond. Amongst the trees stood a unicorn, as white as summer clouds, a rainbow of butterflies encircled it. The unicorn shook its head at her. Lian smiled inwardly “What a childish idea of a unicorn I’m sure if they were real they wouldn’t took so perfect.” She thought. However she also thought that her little sister Jess would have liked to have seen it.

Next to the pink window a more sober view presented its self stepping closer to see more clearly Lian saw a depressing view of a derelict city. The window seemed so high it made her feel queasy. Knowing they were on ground level made no difference, the view was higher than that of Bridey’s bedroom and Lian had thought that high for a house, it was as high as a grade three lift reached. Lian knew no real buildings reached that hight. Before her the red sun was setting, over a warren of grey and glass towers, which reached towards the sky. No trees were to bee seen. Several buildings had collapsed and one was broken exposing its layers Lian supposed they were offices. Far, far below the dilapidated buildings strange unmoving carriages clogged the streets, a lone child wove between the cars. The only other movement was a curling black stream of smoke rising from some where far off. “What horror caused this devastation?’ Lian's mind asked, “Where are the flight lifts? and what civilisation built a city so tall?” Lian turned her gaze and swiftly caught up with Stefan and Bridey.

“How do they work?” Stefan was asking Bridey.
“I don’t know, I hadn’t thought of that before. They can’t be real because they are on all four walls and that doesn’t even make sense!” Exclaimed Bridey. “What do you think of them Lian?”
“There really interesting.” She assured Bridey “Do you think that maybe they are the different worlds the Salkite travel too? Actually they can’t be, because there is no way some of them are real.” concluded Lian.
“There’s a really cool interactive window in the next room, where you can see any where in the real world” Bridey said
    “Cool, through here?” Stefan Asked
The three went on to the next room.

The next room was also painted white its floor was stone and Lian felt herself becoming conscientious of the noise their foot steps were making. Unlike the other three this room only had one window and in front of it there was a short Que. At the front was a noisy group of four. They were loudly joking around Lian over heard “bathroom” “pervert” and “panties” and felt her cheeks going red.
Bridey and Stefan were still talking “You can see any where?” Stefan was asking
“I think so.” Said Bridey unsure “I’ve only seen it once before.”
“I’d so like to know how it works.”
“It’s a shame we can’t stay for the tour. Bridey bemoaned “The only time my mother is free is for lunch and I would like her to at least meet you once while your both here.” Bridey gave a dark glare to group at the front of the line as one of them exclaimed "Kitty's shower!" It was lost on their backs.
The que went quickly. A peculiar looking girl in a wheel chair wearing a dress looking like it came from the Catith’s time was the last one in front of them. When she asked to see some one called Theo, and then started an unnatural laughter when it showed a grave, Stefan, Bridey and Lian all shared a look which said “creepy!”

“Our turn” said Bridey “you first Stefan”
“You sure, thanks. I’d like to see out from the highest point in the city.”
Lian was surprised to see that the shape of the window itself morphed until it was the inside of a clock face.
“Of course the clock tower” Stefan hit his head with the palm of his hand. Although it was nowhere near as high as the window which had showed the giant city to Lian earlier, it gave a perfect view of the real city. Framing the view, the circle clock face, with back to front numbers, warped the central Lift making it bend and contort as you moved. It appeared as though they were looking out through a bubble. To one side was the botanical garden, the other the landing strip, and in the centre the Lift. A big meatal tower elegantly marking the centre of the city waiting to launch people into the air on their journeys to any where in the country. Surrounding the greenery there seemed to be a wall of buildings, the Birdzi parliament buildings to the left, libraries and museums further round, the grand university next to the Wardens lecture hall with its grand spiers and bells, the Bird’s Song’s head quarters and to the right a collection of the grandest hotels and the entrance to the market. Lian knew that each of these land marks hid behind them miles of residences to house the workers of the city. In the sky what could have been birds, but were actually people wearing wings of silk and struts, negotiated landing and taking off in the crowded air space. Harder too see Birdzi in their bird form flew among the people by contrast much more graceful, having natural feathered wings and hollow bones for flying.

“It’s really cool but I wish I knew how it worked” Steafan took a step forward to touch the clock glass. An alarm went off and he quickly stepped back.
The lady who had let them in appeared around the corner “Please stay behind the demarcated line” Stefan looked sheepish.
Bridey apologised “sorry” once the lady had left she said “your turn Lian”
“I don’t know what too see, you go first.” Lian responded
“Uh me neither, mm, Stefan’s Father’s shop.” This time the window looked in instead off out and showed a small clean shop with many different coloured wings hanging from the walls. A wealthy looking man was standing an a wooden step and being measured by Stefan’s elder brother, while further back in the work shop area his father was bent over a pair of wings. The silk was being stretched over the carefully crafted wooden frame the clasps and harness were yet to be attached. Steafan laughed “Arenon hates doing the measuring, he’d much rather be out the back with Dad doing the frame construction.” “You must serve the customer first.” Said Stefan impersonating his father.

Lian smiled “I’ve worked out what I want to see, I’d like to see through the window to the human mind”
“Of course that’s what you’d choose to see” Bridey shook her head.
The window morphed into an eye briefly and then went shimmery as though a vertical wall of water the view was brief and fleeting as though undecided on what to show. Images flicked like a slide show across the window like a motion picture; black ness, an open field, colours and words, a brain, chemical symbols. Then it turned into a mirror showing the three friends standing in an empty white room with a glimpse of the other rooms full of windows.
“I don’t think it thought much of that request” Bridey said “It couldn’t seem to make up its mind”

Lian just looked thoughtful as they went to leave.
“You know I think every one looks out at the world through a different window, we all are looking at the same world but our view is completely different to the next persons because o where we look from. Maybe also we each live in our own worlds, visiting you in the city kind of feels like we are visiting you in your world Bridey.” Lian mused “Sorry I was sounding all philosophical then and not making much sense.” She apologised.
“Na, I think you might be right, Hey Bridey where are we meeting your mother for lunch? I’m starving!” said Stefan.
  13. Me: Eugh, oops! Anyways, here I am.. with all of.. this?

Kazsa gazed at each person's window, then found a pane of his own - just a little one - to whisper to. "Show me.. my home."

    Nothing appeared.

Kasza curled up in his massive angel wings and swept his red hair aside. "Oh.."
  14. Cecilia, fascinated, asked another question.

    "Show me... Shu."

    A sea otter appeared.

"Show me where I want to be right now." the back of a large whale appeared, and Cecilia's hand shot to her pendant as if to make sure it was still there.
