Personality: Naturally independent, intelligent and brave, but extremely naive. Angus is a spoiled brat. His mother is in a high-powered job that is basically a big PR campaign, and he rarely sees her (his dad died before he was born). While he's upset about rarely seeing his mother, he's also ready to manipulate her guilt to get stuff he wants (eg. Mum has to leave for work in the middle of the night and feels bad -- "I'll ask her for [insert toy] when she gets back"). However, Angus is generally a sweet kid who just wants someone to talk to, and doesn't make class distinctions. From a young age, he has been trained to never do anything embarassing that might compromise his mother's reputation.
Interest: Angus doesn't really understand his interests at this age. He enjoys the things he has as a rich kid, but realises he isn't fulfilled by them. He does figure skating and likes it, and also spends time on "chat" (a moderated sort of future-IM for little kids). Later, he discovers horse-riding and loves it.
Social Standard: Basically one of the richest kids in the world. Bodyguards, paparazzi and media functions are normal to him.
Time period of the story: 2030s... I needed it to be just a little futuristic for the stuff like moderated-chat-for-kids, seven year olds regularly carrying computers, a few kooky inventions like flying cameras. But it's turned out much less sci-fi that I thought it would.
