Three friend groups,
One friend group,
Three friends,
One friend.
It's not lonely
Just a different chapter.
The chapters people like to skip,
The ones that spend too much time on the protagonist.
A meteor can make a friend.
Each are on their own course,
Yet they lined up for a few years to chat.
Then it drifts a little to far to the right.
They come and go,
Learn to live with who you have. -

Always on My Mind
[i]I'm in love with how kind you are,
How gently you talk to kids.
I'm in love with your perfect eyes
Your Converse and Birkenstocks.
The sound of your voice,
Your real smile.
I'm in love with your passion,
I'd listen to hours of what interests you.
The way your face lights up,
It makes my day.
I'm in love with how naturally you talk to my family.
With ease,
You slip into mundane conversations
And turn them into memories.
I am not in love.
You're always on my mind.
You're there when I see other happy couples,
While I tear up to romance movies,
In the lyrics of my favorite songs.
I'm only in love with the day.
The day you finally come along. -

First nickels become useless
Then dimes
Heck even quarters
Then excess ones and unused fives
Just lose the paper and switch to card.
When did we stop smiling
When someone handed us a nickel?
