  1. Thank you!!
  2. I still remember the times
    When sitting next to you
Felt like sitting next to the sun

You told me we were twinned
    Aliens from a far-off galaxy
Living in a hard human world

She said I brought an ostrich sized change
    Tore away the cilices
And wiped away the blood on your hands.
  3. i want you to write my name with acid
all lower-case, in the morning fog

i want you to take me to the horizon
the place where the sun sinks
where the waters are home to box jellyfish

i want you to know that i like humidity &
the scent of lavender & wet cement

i want you to drive me to the gates
of heaven, flashing headlights in the dark
    ignoring the pitbull trailing behind
  4. what is a poet? does inspiration struck them like the screech of an old rooster in the early morning?
i was told writing poetry is like trying to catch light in a mouse trap. your clumsy fingers ill-suited to something more profound than your thoughts.
i think its more like walking on the sidewalk wearing only socks, and getting gum stuck to the bottom. you should wash it off with pesticides
what if the stars are covered in grime one night
and the eclipse hides the sun
the flower that blooms is a titan arum
the fairy meadows have been replaced by a white metal structure
    calling itself a green-ha-oos
what does the poet do then?
  5. the sea of laughter & people's faces
ended like a rock thrown in a trench
(i did not know that the rock would be me)
my face was masked just like my name
sweat gathering in the little crevices
on my face behind the mask
as i looked at what would be called beauty
when the stars, the moonlight, the sun
& the sparkle of diamonds died a black death
sweat dropped on the tremble in my hands
as i looked on a hallucination so sweet

i found myself stuck in a time warp
feeling the tug & lilt of the earth
    the desperate calling of fate
a compass burrowed in the depths
of me; i would always navigate towards him
every step towards him was a step towards me
i was the dward-planet pluto & he was the sun

Most people ignore most poetry because most poetry ignores most people.
