    I've been thinking of making this club for awhile, but this thread that @Buranko made over in the Anime & Manga Club convinced me to finally go ahead and do it!

    The way this club works is pretty simple - you're free to make a forum topic for any webtoon you're into, but you have to specify if it's Fast Pass. If the topic isn't Fast Pass (FP), you're not allowed to talk about any events that happened in the latest Fast Pass episodes until they come out for everyone else. That way, no one gets anything spoiled! :)

    I'll go and make some new topics to start this club off, but feel free to make a topic or two of your own, too!

    Just got into a comic called Manger Kim, and so far I love it. Especially love how the dad is basically Korean Liam Neeson from Taken (almost said Korean John Wick, but I think this is a better description) when someone messes with his daughter and will pull out all the stops.

    I think cast off is a really good comic. the art stile is amazing, and so is the story line. the characters are all amazing, and fun. castoff takes place in a fictional world with magic. it gets updates every Monday and Friday, and is truly incredible.

    meant to ask this sooner but hi! anyone have some wholesome, slice of life comics that are more than just daily little strips? im especially looking for canvas recs, since ive read most of the originals comics that fit what im looking for

    Unfortunately, I don’t read a lot of slice of life, and the one I’d recommend the most is an original (Marry Me!). I hesitate to recommend Soara Academy since it almost never updates, but it’s a cute school story based on birds.

    just gonna share some recs, hehe~

    Gourmet Hound by Leehama - probably one of my favorites. It's about friends and family and food, and it's both humorous and heartwarming! (Don't worry, I'm not going to be alliterating for all of these xD) But seriously. The writing is superb, the art is clean and cute, and when the series ended it really felt like the end of a great journey. One-line summary: After her grandmother dies, Lucy goes on a mission to rediscover a certain taste from her favorite restaurant, and she gets to know the various chefs from that restaurant along the way. (This does not do the series justice at all.)
    Love Advice from the Great Duke of Hell - Hilarious. The facial expressions are just XDD Plot starts off with basically the title-- Paul summons the Great Duke of Hell to give him love advice.
    The Greatest Estate Developer - Also super funny. Isekai, but the main character uses his civil engineering skills to earn money in the other world, all in the hopes of living a cushy rich life (his plans for that are thwarted every time, though, by some city or other that needs saving xD).
    Humor Me - on Canvas. Updates once a month, but each episode is a joy to read.

    As you can see, I enjoy humor =P Any recs for funny webtoons?

    Villain with a Crush and Maybe Meant to Be are some funny and cute ones. I always look forward to the day of the week when those two release a new episode.

    Oooh I recognize all of those !!! I'm also a big fan of Gourmet Hound. It's such a sweet story. I rank it up there with Always Human as soft webtoons that make me appreciate life more.

    Not So Shoujo is a fun wlw comic with plenty of wacky shenanigans! And Of Dark Lords and Cabbages has also been a pretty fun one, as well as Little Matcha Girl!

    if you're looking for a good comic I recommend 'the little trashmaid' on webtoons. it's an amazing series created to spread awareness about our plotted oceans. the series plot follows the main character called 'tidy' the mermaid, her 3 friends, and her dad. the series is currently not finished, and gets a new part about every two weeks, as of writing this it is on part. 125.
    this series is really good, and I was able to read it all in about 45 minutes.so if you are bord and want to read something new and funny, I recommend giving this a try.

    Has anybody else read Trash Belongs in the Trash Can? It's probably my favorite webtoon right now! It's listed under romance, but it's more like psychological horror honestly lol

    Are you guys comfortable with the daily pass series? I saw some good webtoons there but am hardly able to complete them or simply forget to read them everyday -_-

    Generally, I'm okay with them. Sometimes I forget to read them every day, but if I'm really engaged in it, I will definitely remember to go into the app and read. My favorite Webtoon that started as a Daily Pass (not converted into one after completion) is Whale Star: The Gyeongseong Mermaid. As for Original series being turned into Daily Pass after they're finished, well . . . I'm not even going to get started on that.

    The thing that may not be as nice is when only one episode comes out per week and yet it's still on Daily Pass. But in the end, since it's free, I don't really have any serious complaints.

    ^ I second pretty much everything Lael said! I'd prefer if they weren't daily pass because I always forget to read them, and eventually they become like weekly updates anyways, but I'm pretty chill with reading daily pass stories. I've actually gotten pretty far with Monster Duke's Daughter, Mystic Prince, and Charming the Duke of the North.

    I suppose you both are right. I too have been reading 'Night of Shadows', 'Charming Duke of the North', 'Little Lady Mint' and 'Knife in her heart' and absolutely love them. However, I feel that these series despite being really good aren't really getting the fame and views they deserve. A lot of people I know skipped reading some webtoons just because they're a daily pass series. In my opinion, daily passes aren't really a good idea for a newly released webtoon. I'm definitely in for rereading a series via daily passes but not this. That's just how I feel lol

    I definitely agree with that thought! I am guessing that the reason why some ongoing series are on Daily Pass is that those webtoons are available on other platforms, but behind a paywall. So unfortunately, the only way WEBTOON can make money off of these is to not give them 100% free access. Disappointing, for sure, but I’m glad to get to read them all the same. As for people who don’t read them because they’re DP, eh, they’re just missing out, which is also no big deal.

    Ah I did not know that. It does make a lot of sense and I suppose it doesn't hurt to read via daily passes. They're storyline and art are amazing and extremely addicting after all.

    Jupiter Men is such a cute superhero Webtoon comic… it updates reliably and it’s a lot of fun. Not that many episodes so far because it’s kind of new, but I definitely recommend!

    I've also really been enjoying that one! It's fun reading about siblings, especially in a webtoon where romance doesn't seem to be the main focus.

    Also the kids are adorable & I'm very much obsessed with their powers.

    Not sure if this fits what you're interested in, but have you heard of The Witch and the Bull? There's a lot of important things in the story that have constellations involved. I personally haven't read it in a while, but I felt like it was a good story so far.

    Yes! Meow Warriors! It’s a magical-girl-esque comic about cat-themed warriors. Apparently cats are intelligent aliens from another planet with mind-controlling powers. Most are content with their lives on Earth, but some want humans eliminated! That’s where our protagonists come in, as they fight to save our world from cat conquerors. It’s a fun comic that has some brutal/bloody scenes, so just a head’s up. Overall I recommend for its action and its take on magical girls/people.

    HOW is true beauty 8 episodes away from ending?? Just how??? I can’t believe I’ve been reading this for nearly 4 years since those clickbait-like ads on YouTube for it got me good and now it’s ENDING

    There's just something really cool about seeing multiple Canvas Webtoons become Originals. I got into the habit of reading Canvas ones this past year because I was caught up on all of the Originals I was even vaguely into, so now I keep seeing new Originals that I recognize from Canvas.

    (Even if I never really got into the Canvas version.)

    I'm just so happy for those comic creators. <33
