   Daily Challenge - Place
   
   I went for a drive yesterday
   destination: nowhere
   the Ottawa river followed, weaving & withered by winter,
   ice floes shedding like springtime snakeskin
   the trees are Tom Thomson paintings:
   the same ones that crowd your backyard
   in black & white blurs, the ones
   that I will never see again through maple sills
   as I sip hot coffee running rough against my palate;
   February is in the rearview, shedding old memories
   in new sights.
