What are the best speeches you've heard. Have you written any??
-
I wrote this it could, and should very well be a speech:
s Ted Talk:
I honestly know I am a brat and I know I am lazy, and I am okay with that. You have to be honest with yourself in life, but still love yourself. Be harsh on yourself when you know you could be better, but not too hard on yourself. Be confident in you, but not overconfident. Love yourself, but not too much. Love yourself because if you don't love you no one will be able to - no matter how wonderful you really are- because you keep throwing up reasons in their face for them not to. You may be the best product on the shelf, but if someone keeps saying things against you half the customers that would love you otherwise won't buy. You need to love you. I can't stress that hard enough. I see it all the time, and I have been victim of my own discrimination. Beautiful people, beautiful people, tear themselves to shreds. ' You aren't good enough, you'll never be good enough, your hair is to short, your teeth aren't straight, your weight isn't exactly the way you think it should be, your shoes don't match, you have eczema, you are ugly, you aren't perfect!' They mentally beat themselves to a pulp. Well guess what, you aren't a cookie cutter image of societies perfect person or of your own perfect person, and some people may not like that. You know what?....... Who the flip cares, not me. Not me! You are you! Since when is being your own person being the person everyone else wants you to be? Being the celebrity you saw and loved immediately on MTV? Hurting because you are you, and on the inside you feel like you desperately need to be someone else? That is not being the beautiful person you were meant to be. The beautiful person you are. This is a very emotional topic for me, and I don't want to hear it. To hear you breaking yourself down, maiming yourself pointing out your flaws. Flaws? Flaws are great they give us personality. Perfect is boring. If everything was 'perfect' then nothing would be extraordinary. You are you, you were born to be different. Different isn't bad! Different, on a rainy day when the sky has been grey for what seems like all eternity, the sun is different. Is that bad? Is the sun bad? Of course not! Everyone is different. Life would be so boring if we were all the same. Who would need conversation? We could read each others minds. We would all be thinking: "I just wish something different would happen, wish I could see something different. Wish I could read something different, man all of these my little pony stories are a drag what about something different?" Would all of these perfect synchronized people say anything? No. It would be breaking those boundaries of their perfect world where everything is the same. We need you to be you. We need different to survive. Different is our oxygen. It is how we breathe, perfection would kill us. I am so tired of it, I will NEVER be perfect. I revel in that fact because perfection is sooo overrated. No one will ever on this earth be perfect, because perfection in itself is so imperfect. I love you all, every one of you. -
