  1. My poem dump! P.S. I write terribly when forcing myself to write a poem based on a certain topic. When I 'find' words/poems/lines they turn out a lot better. : )
  2. Not sure how much I'll actually be able to write in here but here goes!
  3. A World in Her Mind

    in her mind i saw
    a colored moon
    and rainbow pines
    and a quiet loon.

    i called to her
    in her pictured thought
    but she was scared
    and i was not.

    she flew from me
    in form of a bird
    and i grew wings
    from a silver word.

    i touched her lightly
    with my pink-silver feathers
    and we landed softly
    in a meadow of heather.

    i told her of magic
and my powers with the mind
    that she was hurt
    so i met her inside

    where the air was soft
    and gentle as a breeze
    to draw her out
    and help her unfreeze.

    she wept in my arms
and we were birds no more
    but silly little schoolgirls
    crying on the floor.
  4. Love that final stanza! I really like how you manage to go from this fantastical mental world to the real world. I also like the first stanza's imagery of a "colored moon" and "rainbow pines".
  5. Ooh! I'm going to one of the *prime* viewing spots in the USA today, so this eclipse prompt is gonna be fun! As soon as I actually write it...
  6. Eclipse of Gold

    I sat on the bench
    After watching the eclipse,
And I was contented to sit.

    Though the "ring of
    Fire" part was
    For merely a second,
    And I missed it,
    The rest was beautiful.

    The shadows of the moon
Left the shadows on the ground
    Burning
    And golden but
    Dark
    And inky
    But soft,
    As if watered down
    By the fiery liquid
    Gold light
    Of the sun.

    The sun was brighter
    That day,
    And during the drive,
    I felt the sun so
    Strongly that
    I felt I must be
    Golden myself.

    Leaving all questions behind,
    I rose up from below
    The ground where
    I had been resting dormant,
    To stand and feel
The hot light on my face
    Like a hand and
    Celestial voice
    Telling me:
    You are beautiful,
No matter how you refer to
    Yourself,
    No matter how others
    Interpret you,
    No matter how many
    Hardships you've faced.
    You are beautiful and strong
And as long as you are in my light,
    You will be golden
    And you will always belong.
  7. Ohhh... I really want to do this ghost prompt, but inspiration hasn't struck yet and I won't force myself to do it. I know some ideas will pop into my head soon. 3> ...right?
  8. Memory-Magic-Thought-Reminder-Special-Wistful Ghosts

The ghosts whispering over the green lawn
    Gallivanting through the hills,
Memories of past lives and actions,
    Reminders of what can happen
    When human decency fails
And people start to thirst to kill

The ghosts shimmering past the skies
Waving over houses and lives still being lived,
    Remembering the joy of being
And sending magic to help all the people
Live the best lives they can
And enjoy everything while they still thrive

The ghosts twisting through the storm
    Shining through the dust,
Imparting wisdom on all who cross their paths,
    Sneaking special-good-thoughts
Into the minds of those who believe
In a greater good and of magic and in nature

The ghosts weaving into minds and subconscious
    Darting through skulls and sounds,
Spreading color and light and picture and grace
And love and kindness and smiles and joy
And being ghosty yet simple and magic and senseful
But wistful and generous and natural and good
  9. PE Soccer ULTRA-simplified

    Swish, swish,
    sneakers through the grass

    Pop, tok, pow,
    crack
as the toes hit the ball

    Thump, bump, thud,
    the ball rolls and bounces

    Sweeeeeeeeeee, swish, skreeeeeee, thud
the ball goes in the tiny net

    cheers rise as
    the kids celebrate victory

    in the sport known as
    middle school soccer PE

(I've been meaning to write this for a while. I haven't been enrolled in PE since October and we finished soccer way before that.)
  10. Not quite a letter but... whatever. Ignore the terrible title lol.

cw: mentions of politics, brief mention of the year 2020

    New Year 24-25 -Before Midnight
written on December 31st, 2024, started at around 11:43pm

    Spicing things up this year-
I kept my mini less-than-an-inch-tall pride flag up,
Its stick washi-taped in gold above my desk,
Pronoun pins still stuck to my pin holder
(the American flag pin from my stocking face down on the desktop)
    -It's my room after all-
And yeah, it still feels like we're
    All still in 2020,
But I think a part of everyone will always be that way, stuck
-We're half a decade past it,
But it'll never truly leave us

And now I find myself wondering,
    As I always am,
But now it's about the future...-
    Which has turned into worrying
    (As I always am, #anxiety )
But moreso about the country, the world
And how all these people are going to be affected...
    --Ugh, politics-- Just go away--
    --Our Existence, Their Existence, and
    Everyone Else's Rights are None
    of your business--
So we'll just see, I guess,
Not much else to do as a broke
    Fourteen-year-old whose parents
don't even trust them with a lawn mower
    (true story)
So I'll try to twist things,
    Look on the bright side,
    Different points of view
-and look at that, it's 11:51 already
Hoping for good things in the new year
    Acceptance, Comfortable Vibes,
    Feeling Emotions, and Growing
    Into Myself more.
I've changed a lot these past
Few Years and I'm excited to
See what this era will become/
    Bring in/Feel like/Exist as/
    Be :)
    Grow into it,
    Become brighter and stronger
    every Day.
    -Maybe I'll finally be able
To put "me" with a capitalized
    First letter
I mean, myself was capital a few
    Lines ago.
Not too far off, let's do this.
    (T minus 5 minutes
    To Midnight.)
  11. (ignore that I haven't posted here in over a year lol)

    On Snow, sort of

    white blankets absent
you think we'd be cold, instead we freeze
ice too thick, setting up walls we cannot pass
    dividing us, we are frozen
    in place, solid border
between what we could be and
    what they think we are supposed to be;
    snowflakes are not falling, rather
they wither and drip like our
    melting glaciers, ice caps, tears
rolling down our cheeks as we stand in the streets
and try to say something; we are not heard
    through the thickness of fog
we cannot see, cannot hear, cannot feel one another
    that empathy swirled away
down the drain with the last of last year's snow
    and we know
we can never be whole again
    with lost flurries of feeling
    gone, now...

“Such nonsense!" declared Dr Greysteel. "Whoever heard of cats doing anything useful!" "Except for staring at one in a supercilious manner," said Strange. "That has a sort of moral usefulness, I suppose, in making one feel uncomfortable and encouraging sober reflection upon one's imperfections.”
— Susanna Clarke, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell
