Let's figure out some details.
Entrants;
Must be two people? Or at least two people?
Age difference;
Is this a YWS-age or an actual-age gap, in terms of older and younger ywsers? Also how much of a gap do we want?
Length/type;
Do we want a minimum and/or maximum length? I think we already mentioned making it open to poetry and prose, could we include script and art as well?
Prize;
Badges and points are an option. Wall posts. Review coupons are also a potential thing if we can recruit one of the KOTGR to take it up.
Facility;
We could remind those who don't use it much that WPF is a really easy way to pair up. Do you reckon we could also put a few tips on how to work as a collab alongside it, or include a link or something?
Advertising;
This may have to wait until we know what and how the mods are doing their thing, but do we have any ideas on how we could advertise and get people involved?
Anything else I may have missed?

Yeah, we need at least two participants, but if we end up having an odd number we will have a problem. Maybe we can have a particular participant (volunteer) who will only participate if we have an odd number.
I'm in for it to be YWS age because we are celebrating the birthday of YWS and it sort of related to that.
I think adding script and art is an amazing idea, maximum and minimum length... 500 words in case of prose? Poetry can be like 10-13 lines... I think.
Review coupons sounds great, we could also recruit someone from Better review bureau.
We can actually have a workshop about working on a collab, if it is possible.
We can share the word through wall post and shameless plugs, someone else or me can even do an article for Squills on this. And there is also a new advertising club in YWS.
(I can also work on the Shameless Plugs once everything is decided) -
@TheWeirdoFromBeyond You are wonderful.
Shall we say... has to be at least a year gap between joining? Maybe adjust it closer to the date if necessary. I'm quite happy to have review coupons as prizes. Also, shameless plugs are great.
Workshops are super hard to organise and tend to need a fair bit of planning in advance, but it is absolutely possible, and a member-run workshop would be amazing! It would also be a good way to kick-start the collaborations. If we want it to be an official event we'd have to get it ready pretty soon and check if there are any spots left.
Gonna tag @WritingPrincess for input since, if I remember rightly, you already ran a collab contest earlier this year? Is there anything you could add or suggest? -
Hello people! Only just logged on, so sorry about that, but I’m here now. I found with my contest that with a collab there are some pairs that are eager and do it all the time and that some need prodding, so prods may have to be done during the duration of the contest. I also found that it is not very helpful to either writers if you pair writers who live in completely different places and therefore have completely different time zones.
If you have any questions I’ll happily answer them!
Also, if @TheWeirdoFromBeyond doesn’t want to write a Squills article about this when it’s sorted (maybe next week, or would this week be better?), I can offer my services there too.
As I said, if you need me, shout my name.

Other than the story it self is there any topic or idea we would want the participants touch on/or write around in the story? Or is this really just a free story contest? Form what I can see we are going with a free story contest, which I fully support, but I am just making sure! Also for the age I think 1-2 year gap should probably the minimum (without a maximum) so as long as you think we have enough people interested (both young and older) to do that, or would we need to do more advertising or something else?

All of this is good to me! I agree with what everyone has said.
