Poem 1
You told me that we could walk the tight rope called being in love.
You told me that we could manage it all, even with the fire that kept
falling from heaven, as it burned against your tender skin.
You told me that it didn't even hurt that much, while you were
bleeding and writhing in pain, scars forming on every arm.
You told me not to be afraid of anything, not even the panthers that
lurked by our windows in the nightime or the rabies infected
raccoons stealing from our garbage bins.
You told me that they were all bark and no bite.
You told me that you could never put metaphors together correctly
and for once, I managed to believe you.
You told me that you would always love me, no matter which one
of us was the one to end up in the spotlight. No matter whether
someone saw me as a writer or you as an actor or me as a
musician.
You told me that you liked my music but wished I would write
something that was really my own, rather than just mimicking
others.
You told me that I could be more and instead I just wrote you a
lecture and an article on why all music was repetitions, and
how it will always and forever be repetitions.
You told me that, most of all, love was always original and I
would still answer this with a lecture and an article, which
is what made our love so original. -
Poem 2 - Daily Challenge
no matter what someone might say about how having fun is being in a big crowd, music blasting from every corner and people running against each other, i still found myself alone there.
the only time i find peace in 'vacations', is when i'm left literally alone in the woods, while figuratively living out the party in my head.
it might be the reflection that sounds of a disney princess, but i like to 'vacation' in that other world, when i need to escape the lectures of my mother and the lack of kindness of my grandmother.
if i could run further away, i would.
i am prepared for such a day when i can just run, with my swiss army knife in my one pocket, and all the other parts of my kit. and in the other, my book and my pen, so that i can complete the journey that i've always tried to write. -
Poem 3 - Day 2 Challenge
ants go marching to the hill.
they suck in drugs and wear perfumes.
they fight in places, they fight in their rooms.
who would say no to them?
with death on the horizon. -
Poem 4 - Day 3 Challenge
from this side of the picnic
table, the setting of food is
bleak, with no hope of the
fork to be resting in the fry
-ing pan.how can you talk like that?
there is always hope in a place
like this, where we can pray to
our god, that he will deliver good
will and a nice sandwich.and how can you be so irrational
about the existence of some mumbo
jumbo from the sky?this is a camp devoted to god.
if you shall rather be a worshipper
of satan, you can seek the door.how dare?
guys?
is, is, is that-is what?
is that a bear?
