  1. Taking bets now on whether I'll actually end up writing anything! Bets start at 25 points.
  2. rivulet

    storm and stream
    bring the water
    up from under
    moss and dirt
    spread, drip, drop, rot

    finger of fire,
    figure of flame
    in the mountains,
    bright, standing again.
  3. (That poem was for the first day's challenge. Thought I'd mention that in case I have to for some reason).
  4. For day 2
    ----

    Ruth and Naomi

You be Naomi and I’ll be Ruth,
we’ll be family and I’ll follow you
    anywhere.

Let me tread in your paths,
    let me worship your God.
    And when I come home
at the end of the day
with a pouch of wheat from gleaning,
with a back that curves like a sickle,

leave a kiss on my cheek
    and tears on my neck.

    Let your people be mine,
    let my rest be thine,
and if one day you die,
    may I be buried

    beside you.
  5. Thanks @Vervain for making me aware of the word vervain haha

    S'mores

Our camping trip will be so very sweet:
we’ll hike through fields of daisies and vervain,
and s’mores will be the very best of treats.
We’ll relax and hear the forest’s beats
and listen to the calls of distant cranes.
Our camping trip will be so very sweet.

We’ll play cards inside our tents. We’ll always cheat
to our heart’s content and never feel ashamed.
Afterward some s’mores will be a treat.
We’ll lounge in hammocks, put up our feet,
and just your presence will assuage my blisters’ pain.
Our camping trip will be so very sweet.

We’ll start a fire, let it blaze with heat
and, sticks in hand, I’ll needlessly explain
that s’mores will make the very best of treats.

We’ll have chips and other things to eat.
And, heedless of the looming threat of rain,
our camping trip will be so very sweet
because s’mores will make the best of treats.
  6. let's pretend that those first four stanzas formatted correctly >:[

I want to do with you what spring does with the cherry trees.
