Lare's Novelishing~

10 posts in this topic.

  1. THE GOAL:

    - To write Bearskin [d1] before May 2020.
    - To write The Autumn Door [d1] before August 2019.

    THE SECONDARY GOAL:

    - To plan The Winter Way before August 2019.

    THE DETAILS:

    - Bearskin: 100 words a day. No excuses.
    - The Autumn Door: starting July 2nd, 200 words a day. No excuses.

[Valid excuses: going out of town/being way busy/having plans more than a day in advance. Word counts to be made up the next day and no later than such.]

This thread will be updated every Sunday as long as I remember to do it and tbh if I haven't posted in a while, just poke me, 'cause I totally meant to.
  2. Omg your thread is so organized. Mine is like "here's what I did this month" and I only update it once a month. Anyway! Are you still pursuing your short story goals from your old thread, or are you sticking with noveling for now?
  3. Right now I'm sticking with noveling! Short stories will come when my head is in a better place (and probs when I've finished Bearskin and need something to move on from the utter crap it will be lol).

and legit the organization just helps me keep my brain on track xD I use an app called Writeometer that lets you set a daily goal and keep track of how much you've written/when you'll hit your overall goal. It's super useful! It'll also let me look back and see exactly how much I've been able to write.
  4. Awesome! I'm also super-impressed with your actually having date goals, like "have this draft finished by [distant month/year]," because I literally never have any clear idea of when I'll have a draft done although probably I should come up with clearer deadline-based revision goals
  5. JULY FIRST, TWENTY-EIGHTEEN
    7/1/18

Bearskin: benchmark 9523. Chapter 2 is ending soon. Will go on to chapter 3. Goal: 10223 by end of Sunday, JULY EIGHTH (7/8/18).

The Autumn Door: starts tomorrow! Goal: 1400 words by end of Sunday, JULY EIGHTH (7/8/18).
  6. Update for my Bearskin goals:

Instead of 100 words a day until completion, my goal is one one Fifty-Headed Hydra a day until completion of draft 0.

This draft is going to turn out awful and awkward no matter how long I take to write it, so I may as well get it over with and figure out what I'm working with. At least 500 (awful) words a day has me reaching my goal in less than 4 months.

    Bearskin [d0] has begun.
  7. Well, I was trying to combat my boredom with Bearskin but it's won out for now. I'm going to shelve the story until I feel like going back to it because honestly it's just wearing me out at the moment. I have too many ideas for a rewrite and not enough ideas for the story itself. It needs more planning.

I'm going to go back to a different standalone idea instead. Details to be updated here in the near future.
  8. Omg I was so hungover Sunday I totally forgot to update this.

Progress: The Autumn Door: 2750 words (as of Sunday)

Progress: Project 2 (as yet undisclosed co writing project): planning stages
  9. Progress: The Autumn Door: 5453 words.

Progress: Project 2 (as yet undisclosed co-writing project): on hold for right now.

Progress: Personal Side Project: still figuring out wth that's gonna be.
  10. I TOTALLY FORGOT TO EDIT THIS AGAIN and I don't remember where I was in TAD on Sunday but uh. yeah. So TAD as of 7/25 is 8463 words, to be 10k by the end of the week.

Progress: Personal Side Project: Currently titled Loyal. Planning stages.
