I suppose I should make one of these for myself XD
Um, so the first challenge is...
write out your goal for the month!
My goal for the month of April is to write at least 30 poems and get all of the badges for NaPo this year. I always strive to do that, but I want that to be my target.
As a personal challenge part of that, I want to work on metaphors.

Every weekend is a roadblock. I have a boyfriend and I like to hang out with him. Usually I'll head home before the end of the night but I don't really want to write a bunch of poems after I see him, I just want to rest and relax.
I suppose I could write poems before he gets up. He tends to get up late.
I'm going to have to play catch up on Fridays though because I have less work on Fridays since my job keeps me part time. So what I'll do is I'll do my make up stuff on Friday and I'll try to write at least 3 poems each Friday to keep up with the weekend slack.
I'll check in each Tuesday and Friday to see what I have to get done. If I'm not on track, I'll back load to catch up and then front load at least 2 poems to cover the weekend. My goal will be to finish with 32 poems total if I never miss a day. I might not post them all the day I write them though.
I'll write short structures like nonets, haiku, or pantoums to catch up, and I'll have the theme be my boyfriend since he's probably the one taking my time anyway XD. -

Introduction to Poetry
BY BILLY COLLINS
I ask them to take a poem
and hold it up to the light
like a color slide
or press an ear against its hive.
I say drop a mouse into a poem
and watch him probe his way out,
or walk inside the poem’s room
and feel the walls for a light switch.
I want them to waterski
across the surface of a poem
waving at the author’s name on the shore.
But all they want to do
is tie the poem to a chair with rope
and torture a confession out of it.
They begin beating it with a hose
to find out what it really means.

That poem is just so clean and neat and I love how obvious it is what it's saying, but it does it with beautiful metaphors and twists in the language. It's like a painting.

I think this poem is cool because it speaks like a discussion piece rather than how most poems talk using the very direct commandments. This develops a voice and a counterargument and everything! -
Chapagne Poem for La Josie --Loose woman chap book
This poem can't be posted on YWS, but it was one of the poems I flipped to when I was looking for another prompt and I like it because of the style. It lists the numbers of glasses and what each one will do to you. I could do that type of poem, or I could try it. -
I have been constantly cold since I lost iron in my bloodstream. It really kinda hurts. I've been having to snuggle under more layers and I hate it. Not that I wasn't cold before, but now it seems to just linger longer.

I'm a little ashamed of my pokewalker, but I also love it. It's like that secret little thing I can keep with me and no one really knows. It's always there, but never shown. It's sort of like how people wear clothes.

I need to write a poem about my dog. He's such a nutter.
- His need to beg but we've managed to teach him not to beg
- Hate of everyone, chill with my boyfriend
- Desperately wants butt scratches
- Loves a good rub
- Will lay on you and snuggle, but in his own way -

rhyme scheme.
