   Hey everyone, this is going to be a list of all of the questions we can find, or create, so feel free to add to it! Lumi got us started with:
   
   1. Can you state the meaning of the poem in your own words? Or is there confusion?
   2. Track down a poetic element (metaphor, simile, personification, etc.) and explore why you think the poet chose to employ that element how and where they did. Was it successful?
   3. Do you find more literal or figurative language in the piece?
   4. After exploring this more, has the poem gained clarity of meaning?
   5. How do you feel the title ties into the poem itself?

   Read Out Loud
   1) What is the rhythem of the poem? You can use Marking Up A Poem to determine how the poem sounds.
   2) What is the rhyme scheme [if there is one]?
   3) Does the writer include funny plays on words?
   
   Understanding
   4) Is it a narrative or about feelings or about an object or about something else?
   5) Who are the characters in the poem?
   6) Who is the speaker of the poem?
   7) Who is the speaker speaking to?
   Find the sentence or idea clumps of the poem and translate them for yourself.
   9) Are there reoccuring symbols, images, sounds, or ideas?
   
   Rhythem
   10) Is there a spot where the rhythem isn't the same?
   11) If so, what is that spot trying to tell us?
   12) Does the rhythm follow how we would normally speak?
   
   Enjambment
   13) In older poems enjambment was rare, and used to create importance in enjambed lines. Is there enjambment in the poem?
   14) What is enjambed in the poem and why?
   
   Techniques
   15) What similies do you see?
   16) What metaphors do you see?
   17) What motifs do you see?
   18) What repetition is there in the poem?
   19) What rhymes do you see?
   20) Are the rhymes slant or regular?
   21) Is there internal rhyming?
   
   Form
   22) Does it have a form?
   23) If it is free verse, do some sections feel like they are in a form?
   24) Can you identify the form? Use Shadow Poetry to see if you can find one that matches your Marking Up notes.
