Pebble's PlanMo

6 posts in this topic.

  1. Here's my PlanMo stuff! I will also be putting my plans for NaNo in other places, so I don't know how often I'll put my plans here. I'll try to do as much of the PlanMo journaling stuff as possible.
  2. I didn't do all of them, but here they are:

    Name: Kelly Shieman
    Pronouns: she/her
    Age: 13
    Height: 5’ 3”
Physical appearance: light beige skin tone, wide-set dark brown eyes, slightly upturned round nose, thick dark brown curly elbow-length hair worn either in a braid down her back or loose with headbands
Favorite clothing style/outfit: faded light blue jeans, purple eyeshadow, mascara, oversize heather gray/light grey/purple/black T-shirts with cute animals on them, light brown/black/silver sandals or black/various shades of brown ankle boots or low-top sneakers with checkered patterns in various colors, gold-colored bracelets/bracelets with some gold in them
    Pet peeves: loud people
Fondest memory: handmaking gifts/crafting with her grandma
Hobbies/interests: crocheting, crafting, running, (eventually writing poetry)
Special skills/abilities: she’s a fast runner, (eventually she becomes a poet and is pretty good at writing poetry)
Insecurities: she feels like she is too quiet and too plain
Quirks/eccentricities: she is quiet and enjoys sitting in silence, she dislikes talking more than she has to
    Temperament: mild-mannered, shy, creative, clever
Negative traits: if you can get her talking, you’ll find out that she’s very opinionated, she can be impatient about some things, she doesn’t stand up for herself or others
Things that upset them: people being mean and/or loud for no reason, when teachers force her to talk to the class/answer questions/participate in any way that involves speaking and social interaction
Things that embarrass them: her loud, boisterous mother and older sister
This character is highly opinionated about: eco-friendly stuff, the environment, equality and human rights
Any phobias? -- she’s afraid of the world moving too fast for her, people hurting her/the people she loves, she's afraid of people finding out she likes girls
Things that make them happy: working with her hands, crafting, running through nature, just running in general, spending time with her sister, no matter how much she claims her sister annoys her, (eventually spending time with her friends and writing poetry)
Family (describe): Her mother and sister are very similar and are both extremely outgoing, kinda chaotic extroverts, her dad is quiet like she is, her sister is one year older than her, she has a pet parakeet named Squeek, her grandma who recently died was British (her family is American and lives in the USA) and was her favorite person ever, her grandpa (who was not British but met her grandma in the USA after her grandma moved there as an adult - her grandpa was born on the island of Tuvalu but grew up mostly in the USA… I could go on and on about the grandparents and their history, d3) died before she was born
    Deepest, darkest secret: she's gay
Reason they have kept this secret for so long: she doesn't want anyone to be even more mean to her because of it, she's worried her family won't approve
Other people's opinions of this character: her sister loves her a lot, most kids at school think she’s too quiet, some kids bully her for being quiet and socially awkward, (eventually she finds the Poetry Club and makes some really good friends and even a girlfriend who all think she’s great)
Favorite bands/songs/types of music: She loves Taylor Swift and pop music
    Favorite movies: Anything Disney Pixar
Favorite TV shows: she doesn’t really watch TV all that often
Favorite books: She’s not super into reading
Favorite foods: Beef Wellington, hamburgers - with no onions and extra mustard, oranges, strawberries, salad
Favorite sports/sports teams: she likes to run but isn’t into sports
Religion/philosophy of life: she likes to be in nature
Physical health: good, she is very fit from always running
Dream holiday: a beach house on the California coast
Description of their room: a low bed with a white frame, pale yellow comforter and pillows, baby/cute animal pictures/posters all over the walls, sneakers lined up against the wall across from the bed, a bay window with a mustard yellow window seat in the wall across from the door, a velvety purple armchair in one corner
Any pets? -- a parakeet named Squeek
Best thing that has ever happened to this character: her grandma leaving her some poetry anthologies, which she eventually reads after her grandma’s death and gets her interested in poetry
Worst thing that has ever happened to this character: in elementary school a bully stole her backpack, trashed it and everything in it, and then duct-taped the remains to her desk along with the words "qiuet quieer freak" (quiet queer freak, he couldn't spell) written in black sharpie because he and his friends suspected her of being gay, luckily he wrote the word queer in an odd way and so it looked like it said gnleen, which people interpreted to be a misspelled green
Three words to describe this character: fast, creative, quiet
If a song played every time this character walked into a room, what song would it be? Peace by Taylor Swift
  3. Hmm, just realizing I never put the year for this PlanMo journal. For the record, it's 2023!
  4. You've created a very interesting character with many unique traits. I could relate to her immediately when I read that Kelly loved poetry, and I'm curious to see how her journey leads her to become a poet.

It's very funny how the thing that embarrasses her most isn't, for example, talking too loudly or accidentally tripping over something, but just her "loud, boisterous mother and older sister" XD

I hope you will write this story, as it has a lot of potential, when writing it think of some dramatic changes or twists that can make the story even more intriguing. Good luck with it!
  5. Ha, I've done, like, zero stuff in here. :P
  6. Update: I have decided that Kelly and her sister Aubrielle have had a rocky relationship ever since Aubrielle started middle/jr. high school, even though Kelly started a year after her.

I say Wolf, for all wolves are not of the same sort; there is one kind with an amenable disposition – neither noisy, nor hateful, nor angry, but tame, obliging and gentle, following the young maids in the streets, even into their homes. Alas! Who does not know that these gentle wolves are of all such creatures the most dangerous!
