First rule of cleaning: don't mix ammonia and bleach. If you don't know that it might be time to take a step back and reassess how ready you are to adult.
Second rule of cleaning: suck up your judgement about walmart, dollar tree, dollar general and similar stores, with your vacuum cleaner on the appropriate setting.
The explanation on this is simply that the stores carry supplies you need to live off of for very affordable prices.
For example Dollar tree: ammonia, bleach, spick and span, gloves, sponges, sos pads, scrub bucket, shower spray
Third rule of cleaning: know when to admit defeat at getting stains out of various materials. you can try all the Pinterest hacks you want but some things are just gonna leave a mark. you'll need rags for things anyways.
There is an exception to this call when it's a very expensive thing because then you want to try everything. But if it's a cheap shirt or pants, turn them into work clothes or once they're in worse condition, cleaning tags. I like goodwill personally. I used to buy almost all of my clothing. Maybe the pair of jeans only lasts for a year but you only paid $3 for them so what does it matter? -
That reminds me: hand soap is really, really good at getting blood out. Like, the Softsoap with aloe. Gets those stains right out.

Things I learned the hard way?? Idk if they're like... cleaning but, cleaning related:
1. Unless you like fruit flies, never leave dirty dishes in the sink for more than a few hours. Even then tho
2. Put things like fruit/meat/anything stinky in a smaller, tied/closed bag (I use old grocery bags) before tossing it straight to the trash bin. Otherwise it'll smell if it doesn't fill up very fast, and again. BUGs.
3. Uhh if you have vacuums they're amazing for getting rid of spooky cobwebs w/spiders. Like, if you don't wanna touch the spider and it's not a very big one. Just take a hose to it. Spider goes down air vortex. Is gone. Dies in chamber. Good good.
4. !!! CLEAN/SANITIZE DOOR HANDLES AND STUFF that gets touched all the time. DO NOT FORGET. -

Not exactly cleaning but house maintenance for when you're packing stuff away for another season.
Plastic totes. Packing tape. Paper and sharpies. And lots and lots of dryer sheets and possibly roach/mouse bait. But mainly dryer sheets to ward off everything and so the stuff doesn't get all musty.
The reason I think of this of all nights is that I just drug my mother's desk out of the trailer and there was a very large mouse nest sprawled throughout that required a lot of ammonia. Luckily it is getting shipped up north in the pickup.
