As I sit at the beach
the sand is harsh.
It's in corners, crevices where it shouldn't be.
The sand will join me in the car
and scatter on the floor of my car, then my home
The sun's rays glare
and go on forever
while my sunscreen can only put up a short fight.
The sun's light stabs my eyes
and through the cracks of my eye lids I see the ocean.
Sure, it shimmers. it's a vibrant blue
but is also a seemingly endless abyss
Sure, it's pulling and pushing tides make relaxing sounds
The oceans beautify is a disguise of its apethetic nature.

Summer Nostalgia
I ran, kicking up sand while wearing Nikes amongst converses and vans. Grands of sand flew up behind our dashing feet. I ran, we ran through the thick, dry heat. The burning sun, glaring. Her rays mean and scorching, but our joyous, innocent beaming was brighter. However, the sun had won, and because our cheeks got too hot and the film of sweat, we retreated to the shade.
Our shade, the tent, purposefully furthest from the teachers was our four membered meeting. What we talked about was a blur, but whatever I don’t think it was gossiping.
However, what I will always remember was the people I was with. There was Rebecca, who was a brunette like all Rebecca should be. She always wore dresses with sneakers and stood up straight. Then there was Sarah with light brown hair. Then there was Ester, who the prettiest of all of us with delicate features and mature fashion styles.
