I walked into the kitchen, opening the freezer and taking out a tv dinner. I placed the tv dinner in the microwaved and nuked it. While waiting for it to heat up, I heard thumping coming from the living room. “What the fuck?” I grabbed a knife that was nearby and slowly crept up into the room. I turned my head and I saw here again. Is she for real? She broke into my house!
“Handsome, where are you ~?”
I placed the knife down on the coffee table and glared at her. “What are you doing IN my house?!” She smiled at me again. I don’t know why but I get this chill everytime she smiles like that.
“I followed you home.”
“Look. I don’t know where you’re deal is, but you better leave now or I am calling the cops.”
“But we had such a good time that night. Do you not like me now?”
She obviously just asked me a trick question. “What we had was a one time fling, nothing more.”
Her smile faded. She paced back and forth in the room. “So. You don’t like me?”
“I liked you. I thought you were cool when we first met, but I am not ready for a relationship. And honestly, the way you are acting, I would definitely not be with someone like you.” -

I stared at the grand clock. Tick tock tick tock. The time going slowly as I kept staring at it. I didn’t know what I wanted to do. This whole day was extremely boring. I tried playing outside, but no one couldn’t play with me. I tried watching tv, but there was no good shows on. I even tried baking in the kitchen, but I didn’t have the motivation to bake something I wanted. So, I did the most boring thing which was staring at a clock. As soon as the time reached to midnight, the clock rang loudly three times. A brand new day has started. Let’s see where it takes me today. -

Excerpt from Camp NaNo Novel: Magik TombstoneSpoiler
Evening came, and Kaix was setting up a saddle he bought from the market. He looked up at Kaien, who seemed to be upset for having something on his back. "You'll be alright, buddy. This is only until we reach Caleo." Beli came out of the inn with a bag full of clothing and books. Kaix grabbed the bag from her and strapped it onto the side of the saddle. "You ready, Beli?"
Beli nodded as Kaix grabbed her on the sides, lifting her up so that she is able to get on top of the saddle. Kaix climbed on behind her, sitting in front of her and gripping Kaien's fur. "Okay. Let's go!" Kaien headed out the village to where Beli pointed to earlier.
As Kaien was running down the road, Kaix turned to see Beli reading a book. "You sure like to read a lot."
"Oh. Uh. It's for training. I am going to be a master necromancer after all."
"Wait, so you're just an amateur magic user? How old are you?"
"I'm..16. Why? Does age matter?"
"I don't know. I'm 18 now but I became a beastmaster when I was 10. I was training under..." Kaix's voice grew softer. He looked away from her. "I was training under my master when I was 7."
Beli looked over him. "You okay, Mr. Kaix?"
"Huh? Oh yeah, I'm fine! And drop the mister. I'm not that old!" He looked at her again and smirked.
Oh okay... Kaix." Beli smiled at him as she kept reading her book. Kaix faced forward, noticing a small hut just up the road. Kaien slowed down, coming to a complete stop when he reached the hut. He climbed down, walking up to the hut. -

“Yes, but like I stated, we have grown old and weak. Our magic is not what it used to be. We didn’t expect ourselves to go this low, but something must be done. You two… I noticed it from the girl, but you, young man. Earlier, I have sensed a very strong pressure coming from you. Stronger than hers.” Judice turned and walked towards them. “You two might be the ones are able to overthrow the King.”
“Wh-what? No no no no. I am traveling for a different reason and Beli is just my guide.” Kaix grabbed Beli’s arm gently and started to head out of the double doors. “Let’s go, Beli.”
“You’re saying nothing has happened to you that involved the King?”
Kaix stopped in his tracks and turned to face Judice. “What do you mean by that?”
“You’re suffering a loss, aren’t you? Don’t you want to overthrow the King because of it?”
Kaix looked away from, gripping Beli’s arm gently. He sighed softly as he continued to walk out, heading out the building with Beli. As soon as they reached outside, they noticed Kaien just lying in the grass. Kaix released his grip on Beli and walked over to pet his wolf companion.
“What did he mean, Kaix?” Beli walked towards him.
Kaix sighed once again. “It doesn’t matter. Let’s just keep going. Do you know the way to Caleo from here?”
Beli looked around her surroundings. “Hmm… north from here, it looks like.”
“Alright, let’s go.”
