Name: Aravin
Age: Late teens
Appearance: Jet black hair tied back in a ponytail, clean-shaven (though there isn't much to shave at this point). He's light-meduim built and could probably stand to gain a couple pounds. He has brown eyes and is right around 6ft with a little growing left to do. He usually wears a clean cotton shirt and plain trousers, along with some discolored leather boots that have seen better days. He has a black cloak to use when needed but often carries it rolled up under his arm.
Skills: He's quite the swordsman, having been taught since he was very young. He's good enough with a pistol to get by but hasn't had much experience with longer firearms. He's fond of tricks and sleight of hand and is a very good pickpocket. -
(Looks great! Would you like to start or shall I?)

(I'd rather you start but I can if need be)

(Alrighty. We're about to watch the Mandolorian so I'll do this one after that.)

The town of Keelhaul Cove was the sort of town that only truly came alive at night. The moment the evening sun dipped below the horizon, "respectable" folk closed their shutters and barred their doors in anticipation of the wild apparitions that claimed the darkness as their own. To call the drunken, trigger-happy miscreants of Keelhaul "apparitions" was a bit of a stretch, really, but the Crow appreciated poetic language more than he dared admit.
He flipped his journal shut and set his quill back in the ink well, rising from his desk. A better word would probably be "trolls" or "buffoons", but he much preferred painting Keelhaul with a spectral quality. That being said, he was not blind to the less than refined types. In fact, the inn at which he was currently residing was in uproar as he opened the door of his room.
"What's going on?" he demanded of the sentry at his door. The sentry, one of his most trusted crewman, grinned toothlessly.
"Tom Oak and Redstockings are going at it again," the man replied. "Something about a girl, this time." The Crow rolled his eyes and descended the stairs, tugging out his pistol. -
(im here sry busy day)
Downstairs, Aravin was crammed against the wall as people moved to make room for the brawling men. He was trying his best not to spill his drink- he'd pickpocketed several people to afford it. One of those people in fact was in that very room and Aravin didn't like not being able to see the door. All he could see -and smell- were the dirty cloaks of grizzled seafarers. He'd just been minding his own business when the uproar broke out. He hadn't even had a chance to see what it was all about. Perhaps it was something worth getting involved in. But he wasn't going to find out anytime soon unless he escaped the seething mass of people.
"Let me see!" He said sharply, trying to shove his way through to the front. He received an elbow in the ribs for his pains but gladly returned it. This started a bit of a row and everyone in the group began shoving and trying to get out of each others way and not spill their food or drink. All while not getting in the way of the few furious men who were tearing up the rest of the inn. -
(Busy day for me too, I did some important stuff in D&D)
The Crow reached the bottom of the stairs and shoved his way to the middle of the room where he could see the fighting men. Both were bruised and bleeding, but neither seemed to be losing stamina. His eyes flickered between the two brawlers, sizing each one up. He knew of them but hadn't spoken to either. Neither man seemed intelligent nor mature enough to earn a spot in his crew, but he had been searching for a capable replacement for one of his men for quite some time with no luck. If he had to choose, it would be the man who lost this fight. -
Aravin shoved his way to the front of his little crowd and watched the two fight. He also noticed the taller man at the bottom of the stairs who hadn't been there before. He glanced around the room to see if he could figure out what they were fighting about.
-
Red stockings and Tom Oak had been rivals for quite some time. A friendship gone sour, from what the Crow had heard. His eyes found a dark-haired young woman near the front of the circle, yelling drunkenly at the pair. The girl his man had mentioned, he was sure.
-
Aravin noticed the woman and her shouting. He began to move slightly in her direction, but had to shove his way through more people. He'd never seen this place so crowded. He was sure more people were coming just to see the fight and bet on the winner.
-
Redstockings delivered a harsh blow to Oak's jaw, and the Crow saw a few teeth clatter to the floor. The Crow nodded approvingly as Oak spat out some blood and returned the blow with increased gusto. He liked a man that could recover quickly.
-
Finally reaching a place where he would watch safely, Aravin stood still. He wondered who would win.
-
The fight went on for another five minutes or so before Redstockings overpowered Oak, leaving him unconscious on the floor. The crowd roared, and money was exchanged as bets resolved. Jostled by the rowdy drunkards, the Crow retreated from the scene, intending to speak to Oak after he came to.
"Have him brought to my table when he wakes," he said to his first mate, David Croft. Croft dipped his head, and the Crow headed off to his little corner table. -
Aravin watched as the tall man walked over to the small table in the corner. He wondered if it was the captain that some of the frequents of the port had been talking about. If he was, he may have struck gold. For the longest time he'd been looking for a job on a ship, but he hadn't found one that suited him yet. He sat down at another table across the room where he could see both the Crow and the door and finished his drink.
