(I personally wouldn't mind continuing but there doesn't seem to be much interaction between the characters. Perhaps that could change as the story picks up but it's difficult to get from point A to point B right now)
-
(Can we restart this based on who's still interested in the story?)
-
(That sounds like a good idea)
-
(I'm interested, obviously, and I take back what I said; I'll be active.)
-
(If we're restarting, I think I'll switch to a character I've developed better. Jamie is certainly not that well developed and it's making interactions a tad difficult)

(Hello, I'm still interested)

(Great! I'll start as soon as I can.)

It is Naming Day on the continent of Mir. The cities scattered across the land are decked out in brightly-colored banners and the sigil of the Hosts of Mir line the streets. Today is a day of celebration for all.
Yet one does not celebrate.
In the highest tower of the House of Greeting, the Prophet sits in darkness. In their pale hands is a stub of chalk. They scribble frantically at the floor of the pitch black room, images taking shape as lines are filled in and drawn.
The Prophet mutters to themself as they work, blind eyes roving over the floor as if they can see what they create. Now is no time for celebration; not for the Prophet.
The Prophet has seen, and the Prophet knows.
"They predict that one of the Named will be the end of the Hosts," Archhost Carther said to his companion. The taller of the two, his rail-thin figure cast an imposing shadow over Master Latter.
"Then why not cease the Naming?" Latter suggested. Carther's hooded eyes narrowed at the satyr, and a frown creased his face.
"That would mean a riot that even the wyrms couldn't quell, my friend. The simple solution would be to end the lives of the Named the moment we have them out of the sight of the public. Of course, as the Prophet has insisted time and time again, a prophecy will fulfill itself no matter what is thrown in its way."
"All the more reason to remain vigilant." The click of Latter's hooves echoed through the moonlit courtyard of the House of Greeting, and Carther suppressed the urge to twitch at the sound.
"I must agree with you there. I plan on speaking with the Named myself, as soon as possible. There must be a way to put a positive spin on this."
"How could there possibly be a good way for our order to end?" Latter protested with a snort. "It's existed for centuries!" Carther tilted his head to the side thoughtfully.
"That," he mused, "is an excellent question."
(Okay, guys, that's the prologue! Now for some background on the world.
The continent of Mir is home to quite a few cultures, and its land is a mix between plains, forests, mountains, and one super cold area in the north. It's inhabited by quite a few magical creatures: wyrms [non-sentient dragonlike things], satyrs, centaurs, elves, and the like. The whole place is run by an organization known as the Hosts of Mir, who act as diplomats and peacekeepers for the continent. There are rulers of different areas, but they answer to the Hosts.
Naming Day is when a number of youths are selected to join the Hosts and to train as members of the order. Those will be our characters. We can have one or more characters of any race we choose--just keep it humanoid. You can post y'all's characters in a spoiler in your first post, and then we'll begin.)Spoiler
Name: Kikkari A'chul (Goes by Kikka)
Race: Wendigo
Gender: F
Sexuality: Queer (hard to specify)
Appearance: About 6'4 in her full form and 5'8 normally.
Her normal form is like an elongated human with werewolf-ish legs (you know how dog legs bend the opposite way?) and short white hair. Her eyes are ice-blue and dark veins run down her pale face. Her hands are much, much longer than a human's should be and end in sharp claws. Her face isn't quite human and looks like it can fold out into something much longer. Atop her head are deer antlers. Her body has patches of white fur. It is most comfortable for her to move on all fours, but she can walk upright if she desires.
Her full form looks something like this but with visible eyes.
Skills: Kikka is an excellent hunter and will eat just about anything. Her clan of wendigos did give up the whole human-eating thing, though. Other skills include sewing, intimidation, linguistics, carving, leatherwork, painting, and fighting.
The city of Blim wasn't at all what Kikka had expected. It was much dirtier than Elkfell, for one thing. All the humans she'd met had insisted that because she was from the forest (and for other reasons), she was unclean. Instead, she found the scents and textures of Blim to be the grimiest she'd ever experienced. The dirt of Elkfell was supposed to be there, at least. There was no excuse for such disgusting conditions in a place that was meant to be lived in.
Curling her lip at a passing urchin and revealing her wolflike teeth, Kikka padded on toward the House of Greeting. That, at least, looked clean. It was made of shimmering white stone that reflected rainbows wherever light hit it, and towering statues of the races held vigil from the corners of the building. Kikka had never been the type to appreciate architecture, but she had to admit that this place was impressive.
A Master greeted Kikka at the main doors of the House, frowning slightly as he looked her up and down.
"Er...can I help you?" Kikka straightened; she was nearly as tall as he was if she stood at her full height.
"I'm here for the Naming," she rasped, presenting the scroll stamped with the sigil of the Hosts. The Master took the scroll warily, still giving her an uncomfortable look. Used to this, Kikka sat back on her haunches and watched him pore over the writing.
"...Everything seems to be in order, miss...?"
"I don't do titles," Kikka replied. "A'chul will do fine."
"I see. Well, er, just step through these doors and make a right down some stairs. You'll be waiting with the other candidates until the time comes for the Naming." Kikka nodded and shoved open the massive doors. They were surprisingly light for their size.
Following the Master's instructions, Kikka wandered down the stairs into a wide room packed with people. Most of them ranged from fifteen to twenty in human years, though a couple looked a bit older or younger. Sniffing at the scent of body odor and avoiding the stairs of a few people near her, Kikka eased herself into the mass of chattering bodies. She raised her head above the others', searching for a good place to settle. A beating heart in the corner caught her eye, and she moved towards a young elf boy, dropping back down onto all fours. Once there, Kikka seated herself beside him, pointedly looking anywhere but at him. -
I'm still Caseus
Name: Caseus
Age: 18 (human years) aka 9 (elven years)
Race: You guessed it, elf

Appearance: Looks like a human except my eyes and hair are bright yellow. Has pale skin and his hair is very long and wavy. Sometimes ties hair back in a braid. (Especially during festivals and ceremonies).
Skills: Excellent at cooking and archery. Loves cooking food and often reads recipe books leading to his skill in cooking. Excellent with crossbows and long bows due to hunting very often when looking for meat to cook.
Is 5'7 -
Hey, I noticed that this rp’s starting over? If you guys have space for one more, I’d like to join!

(Absolutely!)

Okay thanks! My character:
Spoiler
Name: Arilee (Ari for short)
Race: Human
Gender: F
Sexuality: (undecided)
Appearance: Around 5’4” (so pretty short for a human). Ari has brown hair and amber eyes. She tends to wear bland yet comfortable clothes and she carries a small dagger.
Skills: Conjuring up tomatoes and throwing them, although she’s usually more of a peacemaker. Ari’s good at climbing and can stay still for long periods of time, meaning that she’s awesome at hide-and-seek. -
(lol I love how you added that they're awesome at hide-and-seek)
-
(Yes yes indeed, being good at hide-and-seek is one of the necessary skills to be a human :p)
