@ChesTacos (Sunny-duckling the hyphen won't allow me to tag you)
It is Naming Day on the continent of Mir. The cities scattered across the land are decked out in brightly-colored banners and the sigil of the Hosts of Mir line the streets. Today is a day of celebration for all.
Yet one does not celebrate.
In the highest tower of the House of Greeting, the Prophet sits in darkness. In their pale hands is a stub of chalk. They scribble frantically at the floor of the pitch black room, images taking shape as lines are filled in and drawn.
The Prophet mutters to themself as they work, blind eyes roving over the floor as if they can see what they create. Now is no time for celebration; not for the Prophet.
The Prophet has seen, and the Prophet knows.
"They predict that one of the Named will be the end of the Hosts," Archhost Carther said to his companion. The taller of the two, his rail-thin figure cast an imposing shadow over Master Latter.
"Then why not cease the Naming?" Latter suggested. Carther's hooded eyes narrowed at the satyr, and a frown creased his face.
"That would mean a riot that even the wyrms couldn't quell, my friend. The simple solution would be to end the lives of the Named the moment we have them out of the sight of the public. Of course, as the Prophet has insisted time and time again, a prophecy will fulfill itself no matter what is thrown in its way."
"All the more reason to remain vigilant." The click of Latter's hooves echoed through the moonlit courtyard of the House of Greeting, and Carther suppressed the urge to twitch at the sound.
"I must agree with you there. I plan on speaking with the Named myself, as soon as possible. There must be a way to put a positive spin on this."
"How could there possibly be a good way for our order to end?" Latter protested with a snort. "It's existed for centuries!" Carther tilted his head to the side thoughtfully.
"That," he mused, "is an excellent question."
(Okay, guys, that's the prologue! Now for some background on the world.
The continent of Mir is home to quite a few cultures, and its land is a mix between plains, forests, mountains, and one super cold area in the north. It's inhabited by quite a few magical creatures: wyrms [non-sentient dragonlike things], satyrs, centaurs, elves, and the like. The whole place is run by an organization known as the Hosts of Mir, who act as diplomats and peacekeepers for the continent. There are rulers of different areas, but they answer to the Hosts.
Naming Day is when a number of youths are selected to join the Hosts and to train as members of the order. Those will be our characters. We can have one or more characters of any race we choose--just keep it humanoid. You can post y'all's characters in a spoiler in your first post, and then we'll begin.)
Edit: Turn order

Spoiler
Name: Kikkari A'chul (Goes by Kikka)
Race: Wendigo
Gender: F
Sexuality: Queer (hard to specify)
Appearance: About 6'4 in her full form and 5'8 normally.
Her normal form is like an elongated human with werewolf-ish legs (you know how dog legs bend the opposite way?) and short white hair. Her eyes are ice-blue and dark veins run down her pale face. Her hands are much, much longer than a human's should be and end in sharp claws. Her face isn't quite human and looks like it can fold out into something much longer. Atop her head are deer antlers. Her body has patches of white fur. It is most comfortable for her to move on all fours, but she can walk upright if she desires.
Her full form looks something like this but with visible eyes.
Skills: Kikka is an excellent hunter and will eat just about anything. Her clan of wendigos did give up the whole human-eating thing, though. Other skills include sewing, intimidation, linguistics, carving, leatherwork, painting, and fighting. -
