Falconry: the Sport of Kings

6 posts in this topic.

  1. Anything and everything about falconry- sources, random info, etc. For those of you who don't know what falconry is: falconry is the hunting of wild quarry with a trained bird of prey. Enjoy!
  2. Any questions that I can answer?
  3. What is it like?
  4. Could you define that question a bit, @AlexOfLight? Do you mean what is it, how do you do it?
  5. What does it feel like when you do it?
  6. Unfortunately, I do not know. I don't yet have a hawk. All I know is what it is like to work with the sick and injured birds and how it is to watch them fly free.

When you hold a raptor/owl, your troubles are gone. The world is nothing but the bird in your hand. The days and weeks as you wait and you watch for her to recover are painstaking, but then the call comes that she will be released. And when she flies free...your heart goes with her.
