The Compendium Competition- Round Two

  1. Alright, time to decide on the winner of the competition!

@TheSilverFox had a really strong piece. What's already an interesting creature, well presented through this scholars writings becomes so much more real as the writer begins diving into the mythology of the Queen Of Thorns, and the dubious claims of the natives. You really do nail exactly how dreadful this forest is.
    In other words-- Great stuff.

@haredrier Also had a real good piece. There's a lot of history behind all of these creatures, and it feels as though we're just skimming the surface. I think my favorite part was the immortal frost giant being shattered into an endless storm. That's... just an awesome idea.

In other words, I'm really torn. In the end, though, I think I have to give it to Silver. This was absurdly close-- In the end I just felt more immersed in Silver's world. Maybe it was the more narrow focus, the narration from someone actively observing these creatures-- I'm not sure. What I do know is that this was a great competition. These worlds are incredible, and I'd love to see what stories grow from them.
So, that concludes the Compendium Competition. Hopefully we can get some similar comps going around this club (Maybe some I can hop into). As is, this has been great, thanks for taking the time to make these entries.
