So I thought the worldbuilding contest over and here are the basics I came up with. These are still open to discussion and I'd like evryone's opinion on them.
1. The goal of this contest is, well, worldbuilding. Every two weeks I'll post a new topic related to worldbuilding, and during the course of the first week people can submit their entries. So far I have 24 possible topics written down, so I don't really think there's any fear of running out for quite a while.
2. The second week can be for voting. Even people who didn't contribute to the topic can vote (I'm not sure if people should be allowed to vote for their own entry, we might have to since we don't have a lot of members yet). In case of ties, I can vote as well, but otherwise I'll mostly stay impartial.
3. Each competition topic can be entered seperately. Failing to enter one doesn't mean that you forfeit future ones, think of them each as mini-contests. Otherwise, it might now be fair for someone who doesn't have original creatures or magic in their world, for example.
4. The same fictional world must be used for all entries. It has to be the participant's original universe, because that's just fair. It can be one that they've written abot before, or it could be one made up for the sole purpose of entering these contests.
So far I don't have any ideas for prizes, perhaps they get a flashy title for the week with another for most points overall(We can have a leaderboard and everything). Any feedback on this would be appreciated, and if we get everything worked out we can start next week.

I had an idea.. why don't we make the first competition open to all YWS members? That way, we could make our club known to others, too.

That's a great idea! I saw thinking for the first week's contest to be a general overview of the world (genre, climate, short description) in order to keep it simple and make a basis that they can build off of in future contests.

I think if we want a greater amount of people, we could move the forums over into the contest section. So far I think the system is okay but creating an entire fictional world in a week might be challenging. We could do this tournament style so we could have the flow of the contest go smoothly.

I was thinking we could host the first few rounds in the contest forums, to get more people involved. Also, I wasn't planning on having them create everything in a fictional world in a week, I was thinking to have it tournament-style and each round helps them flesh out the world. The first week would only need a short description, and they can even use a universe they've written about before, as long as it's their original creation. The reason I said each round/ competition topic should be entered separately is so that people whose fictional worlds don't include things that relate to a round's topic aren't instantly disqualified.

nah, i think we should two weeks for the first round will be good. cus, the base will be made on the first round and then they will expand it in the other rounds..

This contest sounds like a great idea. Just something to add for point #2 , though—we should probably disallow voting for yourself. It'd be fairer, not to mention more sportsmanlike.
