Haunted Tournament participants! Apologies for the very late start! I forgot to post the Duel list, mostly due to a bunch of stuff (which can be found in the Haunted Tournament thread). Please check it out! You guys have until the 22nd to write and post your entries! I'm really, really sorry about this! Good luck!

So how does the voting system work exactly? Newbie!

    Rosendorn replied · May 27, 2016

Basically, you read whatever thread you've not participated in, and say which story/contestant you preferred in bold, then give a short reason why you preferred it over the other! You can find a little more information here

    Voted :)

Cries because it's almost a month past the deadline and nothing has happened.

Yeah, sorry everyone! I will have a round two of this, promise ^^

I might not get mine in tonight, but it should be up tomorrow! (I decided not to use what I was going to use for this and started something completely new XD )

I'm working on mine right now and it'll be up tonight, maybe.

Due to a lack of votes for Fournament, TGW staff have decided to open voting to the contestants. Please follow the instructions in the Fournament thread!

Communication: It's just a little bit important.

Who am I kidding? It's key. It's an integral part of how we run things at TGW—nothing would get done without it. Whether it's communication within the staff or between combatants and staff, it's probably the most important part of running a highly interactive group like this.

It's come to my attention that, unfortunately, communication has not been receiving the weight it deserves from both staff and combatants.

Are you a combatant having trouble with your entry? Are you a staff member who might be a little late on updating a tournament due to some sudden problems? Are you either who's glad about how things are going? Communicate it!

Communication isn't negative in nature; it's just a way to let your host, staff, or combatants know what's going on, whether that's a bit of an issue or totally amazing. Happy, sad, eager or mad, a general rule is that the other party will only know what you tell them. If you're having trouble, let someone know, and they'll be much more understanding when they do.

Communication is also important when it comes to deadlines for both combatants and hosts. If you can't make a deadline, let the other party know; more often than not, they'll be understanding of the problem, and then the both of you can work through it together instead of trying to pull the same rope in two directions.

But Reeeeeeine, you say, just now realizing who's writing this big long post (or perhaps you already knew from my Peppy Pep Talk style), communication is haaaaard. And trust me, I know it is sometimes difficult to get across what you mean, and you're often uncertain about yourself, as both a host and a combatant. It's one of the big troubles I face a lot of the time, so I'm going to do this:

I'm going to add an incentive to communication with your host in a tournament. Every combatant that communicates with their host at least once in a tournament will receive 50 points from me at the end.

How do you get these points for communication? Just say something! It can be anything from "hey, I won't make the deadline, can I have an extra day?" to "my entry is coming along great!"—however, if a combatant initially communicates, but fails to communicate a further problem with the deadline (i.e. fails to submit on time without notifying their host), the incentive will be nullified and no points will be awarded.

Remember, we're all here at TGW to have fun, not to get stressed out—so if you're stressed, let someone know, take a break, just hang around for a bit. There aren't any rules that say you have to give 110% all the time, so go easy on yourself, just notify someone else first.

Sincerely, from the one who's taking a break,

Fournament people, you have approximately seven and half hours as of this post to submit your entries if you haven't already done so. Good luck!
