The State of Harbingers of Revolution

1 post in this topic.

  1. Back in 2014, I had started watching a video game walkthrough of InFamous: Second Son. The powers were so fascinating for me and the story was interesting. I decided to spent months creating a Storybook based off of it in my free time.

What came of it was The Harbingers of Revolution. What started as a series of teasers hyping the Storybook, came a fleshed out experiment. This was spearheading my attempt at cementing teasers as something fun to often in the General Storybook Discussion forum (there was a large discussion going on at the time about how that particular forum just doesn't get used all the much and the SB Crew were trying to find ways to revamp the GDS forum, with not much success, as you can tell now).

This Storybook is not without its flaws, as you can see if you study it for long enough. It was an overwhelmingly large task for me as a the Dungeon Master, with over 15 participants and a total of four different overarching stories going at once at times, it was definitely something that hasn't been done in a long time, and maybe for good reason.

This Storybook to a long while to start and even longer to get on its feet. By the time it was actually going, personal life swamped me, along with the person helping me run the SB dropping out on me, I decided to take a hiatus from the site. It was a sudden leave and left the Storybook with no one running it. Needless to say, it was dead.

But, I considered this Storybook one of my best. It had a somewhat well developed profile (although I was planning on doing more with it and never got the chance), a good premise, and nice powers. I didn't want to re-boot this Storybook, because I knew I had already broken that road with my hiatus. The characters were canon in my head, and there was no reversing that. So, the next best thing was a sequel.

For the past seven months I have been working on a sequel to Harbingers of Revolution. However, there were unexpected roadblocks along the way.

To be continued next week. Please, post your thoughts, comments, and/or questions below and I'll try my best to answer them!
