Technique Discussion

4 posts in this topic.

  1. How do you achieve lucidity? Discuss well-known techniques like Wake Back To Bed, or share your own dream procedures.
  2. This morning I tried something which worked to an extent. After awakening from a dream in the morning, a got up and was active for about an hour. After that I went back to bed and tried to enter sleep paralysis for a WBTB ld. This didn't work and I just fell asleep, body and mind. BUT during a dream I realised I was dreaming! Though I tried, I didn't have much control over the dream world, but I followed dream characters around and observed what was happening, knowing that I was dreaming. I think this happened because I went back to bed with the intention to ld and I was thinking about lucid dreaming. This, coupled with the disrupted REM stage, gave me a slight success. My next goal is to have proper control in the dream.
  3. I currently have a cold, and have been snacking on ginger pieces when I wake up in the middle of the night. I've noticed that in the last couple of nights, my dreams have become wackier and my recall has improved. What changed? I started eating ginger just before re-entering REM!

Maybe you guys would like to try. Apart from being soaked in cane sugar, ginger pieces aren't harmful to your body at all. In fact they're very good for you (hence why I'm eating them during a cold). If you don't want the extra sugar content, I suppose ginger tea would have the same effect.
  4. Here's a technique which may help some of you. Once you wake up in the night and lie back down (to try and attempt WILD), it's common practice to lie on your back. If this doesn't work for you, try it on your side instead. Also, try seeing the things in front of you through your eyelid. Imagine what you would see if you opened your eyes. Keep imagining, and if you stay lucid long enough you will actually end up seeing it. This is a way you can induce a LD.

Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.
