They are adding shields, dual wielding, a city in the end, the ability to kill the ender dragon multiple times, and some other stuff I forgot about. Look up the minecraft forum and they post all kinds of updates about 1.9 and other related minecraft news.

More flowers and types of trees? I'm not sure. What I AM sure of is that I'm waiting for rabbits in the xBox editions, and the plethora of flowers.

1.9 just came out, to get it create a new profile on the launcher and allow expiremental snapshots, then just play minecraft with that profile and it will load. There is tons of stuff on it, including a new mob. I wont spoil anything if you want to see it for yourself
