Getting to Know You

4 posts in this topic.

  1. Hi everyone!

As we wait for people to trickle in I'd like to start getting to know everyone. Hopefully you agree that introducing ourselves via Bio-Poems would be a good way to start.

Please write a quick Bio Poem about yourself using your username.

The formula is simple, just work with the following suggested lines and see what you come up with.

    Start of Username
    Who is...
    Sibling of...
    Lover of...
    Who fears...
    Who needs...
    Who feels...
    Who would like to see...
    Who lives....
End of Username [or repeat your username, or a nickname]

Try to make it something that no one else could say, and don't be afraid about making a bunch of sentences or going off what they think is the topic. These can be unique or as plain as you want them to be.

Since we are getting to know each other, I'll start by sharing a Bio Poem about myself.

    Aley

    Who is really nervous
    about being a camp councilor.
    The idea of guiding people
into the dark recesses of the inter-web,
and being the rock when the lights go out
isn't her idea of the best of times.

    Sibling of chaos and patience,
she is the yang to Chaos' yin,
    but still a relation
    when the night is dark
or clothes have to be folded.

    Lover of form,
    like squares and circles
    winding around a sunlit day,
or a poem that has to be
    just a certain way.

Who fears failure, but don't we all?
She fears failing after every ounce of sweat is gone
and she's dead in the dirt with only half a job done

    but it's more than that.
    She fears being called lazy,
or being laughed at for lacking skill
and that's just the cap on the soda-bottle.

    Who needs confirmation
that she's going in the right direction,
and who feels that wandering too far away
from the street lights will yield in getting lost.
Stuck in the cold woods in the rain,
but not shivering because walking is hard
so the rain just rinses the sweat off her brow
and lost is alright, as long as this is the right way.

Who would like to see YWSers bloom
    into competent people
who won't close their eyes to pain
or turn their backs to discouraging feedback.

    Who lives here,
    in this moment and time,
    dreaming that the next
    one will still contain her.

    Kitty

Now that you've read mine, what will be yours?
  2. ERZA

    Who is soooo excited
To take part in this camp
That her adrenaline is pumpin' already
And who is real baad at poetry.

    Sibling of lies and trickery
    Almost fooling everyone with
    New pranks everyday and escaping
The wrath of the fierce Motherr

    Lover of anime and mangas
    Drooling over guns and swords
    Dreaming of beating someone up
    Almost every single night

    Who fears of being abandoned
And left alone by all whom she loves
Hides her true self to avoid rejection
And jumps when a cockroach(one that can fly) is in sight :-)

Who needs lots of love and care
Craves for action to feel that adrenaline
And get drenched in sweat and then
Cool of in a cold shower

Feels ecstasic to get her hands dirty
With wet paint of differnt colors
Write nonsense with an ink pen
To just feel the nib glide against the paper

Who feels that there should be a thing
    Called The annual YWS meet
    Where everyone can get together
    And create awesome memories.

Who would like to see herself getting taller
And finally nailing a sweet dunk
    Skateboarding at top speed and
Kissing the winds in a midsummer day

Who lives in a world full of
    Silly...wishfull hopes and dreams
In a land of her own her own creation
Away from the hellishly harsh world

    Gravestalker
  3. ((Oh no, not poems. xD I can't write poetry. >.>))

    Amoniel

    Who is exceedingly excited
At the happening of this camp,
    But not in the least
    Pleased about this poem;
As poetry is a path seldom thread
By the likes of food and Almonds

    Sibling of two mischievous folk
Who are never those to follow
    Anything that their elders say
    Therefore rendering them
Annoying as the light of day
And since I be a vampire
    Of the most definite proportions,
That is a tragic accusation indeed

Lover of all under the moonlight,
But naught that has six legs,
Or the bearer of eight indeed,
However, the furry beats known as animals,
    Might always find a sanctuary
In the beating heart that is mine

Who fears vegetables of the red kind
Known as the tomato to most,
And while not allergic in the least,
    Believes that the vile being
    Should be condemned
And herded away from all meals
    In all future;
    Be it near or far

    Who needs a recent invention,
    That of the computer
    Paired with another called
    The magical internet
    To survive through the day
It might also bear fruit to mention
That food and water were also great inventions
Though sadly out-dated, as is the act of breathing
Lending them no recognition on this poem
If it live up to its name enough to bear the title

Who feels like this poem has gone on quite long
    And should have stopped before
Its writer started the first line
As it is fine doom for the Amoniel
Who goes by that of Almond,
To ever think of writing of such a piece

Who would like to see only that of what she hasn't,
As the life of a world traveler,
Needs not list that of what she hasn't seen
And indeed only of what she has
For even though this makes little sense,
Either to you or to me,
    It needs no more elaboration,
As an explanation risks tipping the boundaries
That have carefully been put around sanity

    Who lives under your bed,
    Deep within your cabinets,
    Residing in your closets,
And when you think I'm half asleep,
    I'm always wide awake!

    Almond
  4. Jazzy Dracula
    I'm not following guidelines
    I am a fangirl

Why can't I put the entire Bee Movie in the quote generator? Would you prefer if I put in the Shrek script instead?
