Review for The Timmy!

4 posts in this topic.

  1. This is a review that, quite honestly, I am very proud of. I consider it one of my best--but I want to know how I can improve. Are my nitpicks too small to be brought out? Is my praise rough? Too much praise? Too many nitpicks? Negative? Just your thoughts are helpful. :)

    Thank you, my friends.

  2. Hi Timmy! I thought I'd share my thoughts with you. :-P

You have a very good reason to be proud of this review! It's written in such a light, easy-going way, and yet, it's so long and in great depth. It has the feel of a comment even though there's tons of helpful tips, because it's full of a playful humour that I'm sure makes writers more accepting of what you have to say.

I especially like your opening paragraph because it's so over the top!

Sorry for the delay... There was a unfortunate occurrence during my travel to come here, involving a screwdriver, pink scotch-tape (don't ask), and a lawn mower from 1864. As you can see, it was difficult. But I am here now, so I suppose I found everything out alright, eh?

The only thing that really I think could use improving, is your plot talk! You seem to mostly focus on nitpicks, which in your case, are actually really awesome pieces of advice. The only drawback to those nitpicks is that you're not commenting on the big picture so much. I know that when people review my work, I often find the plot advice very helpful because I not only change it in that piece, but I can remember it for future works as well.
Of course, you're already talking doing that, and I certainly am NOT suggesting that you take out your nitpicks... I'm just reminding you not to forget about the plot. :-D

That's honestly all there is to say. You're reviewing is simply AMAZING. Like, it doesn't even feel like you're being reviewed, you know? It's more like a friendly chat over a cup of tea, with lots of helpful advice!

Keep it up. Always. NEVER STOP.

  3. Thank you, Socks! I will work on adding more of the plot, and that review for my review was super helpful. <3 Thank you for reviewing this for me. I will work more on plot talk in the future. :)
  4. You are welcome. :3
