We're 3/4ths of the way through the year right now, so I feel like now would be a good time to check back on what everyone likes so far.
Favorite albums of 2015? Favorite EPs? Was there a particular song released this year that you absolutely love? How about any releases that you feel really deserve more attention? Or maybe there's something that's gonna be put out this year that you're really looking forward to. Anything's open for discussion as long as it was released this year.

I finally got around to listening to a few more releases, including Screaming Females' Rose Mountain (at the recommendation of Strange), Sufjan Stevens' Carrie & Lowell, and the surprisingly great Get to Heaven by Everything Everything.
I'm really looking forward to grabbing Neon Indian's new album, and I grabbed a dub album by the Idjut Boys after reading a Pitchfork review that I've been really meaning to listen to. I've also heard really good things about FKA Twigs' new EP.
Also, if you haven't heard of the Adult Swim Singles, I recommend you check it out. It has brand new releases from everyone, ranging from Indie favorites like Danny Brown and Chromatics to the classic Metal band Slayer to 90's alt icons Swervedriver to whatever the heck Skrillex is. It's got a little bit of something for everyone, and it puts out a new single a week (It's currently on week 17 of 19). Other highlights include Doomstarks (a collaboration between Wu-Tang Clan member Ghostface Killah and indie-rap legend MF Doom), and a collaboration between Flying Lotus and a major name in funk music; George Clinton.

(Ayy go Screaming Females)
I have been really listening to about anything this year, so that's pretty cool.
Carrie and Lowell is probably going to be my favorite album this year. Destroyer's Poison Season is a very close second, as I find that album to be absolutely beautiful. The new Thee Oh Sees is pretty darn good, killer bass lines and all. Other titles like the new Panda Bear or FJM are good too. Oh yeah, and those four Canadian dudes who made a post punk self titled. That one is good.
Though nowhere near the best, FIDLAR's Too I have fallen in love with. Garage punk talking about getting sober and being THAT band really hits my heart for whatever reason. Them and Wavves are my jams when walking around the house.
I'm excited for the new Joanna Newsom, still need to listen to the new Beach House and TWIABP&IANLATD. Surprise AnCo would be good too. -
Oh man, I completely forgot FIDLAR & Thee Oh Sees put out a new album this year (this, plus two new Wavves releases seem to make this a decent year for garage punk).

Carrie & Lowell’s probably going to be my favorite this year as well. I got around to listening In Colour, and I like it a lot actually.
Tame Impala’s Currents’ seemed really good but on later listens didn’t really grow on me anymore. It’s still decent though. Similarly, Holly Herndon’s “Platform”, Lupe Fiasco and the new Belle & Sebastian album sorta went out of favor for me. I still like them a lot, and they’re obviously good stuff, but I guess I don’t feel like they’re as good anymore as I thought they were upon listening to them initially.
Courtney Barnett’s “Sometimes I Sit and Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit” blew me away. Maybe it’s something to do with my current mood but everything in that album, from the straightforward lyrics to the deadpan voice to the distortions, “speaks” to me. Barnett’s a pretty intelligent songwriter and some of the lyrics are worth listening to over and over. I strongly recommend this, guys.

Viet Cong (they’re changing their name I hear) I’ve fangirled enough about already.
I heard the record Panda Bear dropped at the beginning of the year which was decent, haven’t heard the latest EP. Joey Bada$$ and Sleater Keaney are two other artists who dropped albums I loved at the beginning of the year.
The new Alabama Shakes record is great. It’s not as good as their previous album, imo, but it’s still recommendable. Young Father’s “White Men Are Black Men Too” grew on me a lot. Every time I listen to it, I start liking it more.
Then there’s Kendrick’s TPaB.
Leon Bridges is nice. I get his whole album’s a throwback and we had enough of that but some of the song are really pretty and I liked them a lot.
I’ve heard tracks from the new FKA Twigs ep. Liked them a lot.
Algiers is amazing. Listening to them, I haven’t been as excited since when I discovered Iceage. Also Sleaford Mods. And that wrestling album by the Mountain Goats. I love the Moutain Goats.
Hop Along had a great indie album out.
New Order’s new album was disappointing. And PiL’s record was good in every way but didn’t blow me away. “Citizen Zombie” by the Pop Group is still my favorite comeback record. The track “SOPHIA” from it is possibly my favorite track of the year.
Albums I haven’t heard yet but want to asap: Destroyer’s “Poison Season”. The new Kurt Vile record. Battle's "la di da" (I hear it's very different from "Gloss Drop") Beach House’s “Depression Cherry”.Lana Del Rey -
I think FFS has probably been my favourite album so far this year. Admittedly I'm not very familiar with Sparks, but I'm a Franz Ferdinand fan and even though it's very different from their usual sound, I really loved it a lot.
British India's "Nothing Touches Me" and "Gracetown" by San Cisco are both pretty cool, and have some really fab songs on them.
I've liked "Wilder Mind" by Mumford and Sons. I'm a fan of their new sound, and there's a lot of really good songs on there, but it hasn't grabbed me as much as other albums.
"Glitterbug" was a pleasant surprise for me. I like the Wombats' other albums but wouldn't have called them a favourite band or anything, but this album was a stand out for me.
"Down To You" is one of my favourite songs I've heard this year, and Bad Pony's EP "Limbo", is similarly epic. Think I've found a new favourite band in them.
@Sweater (Can't tag in clubs but whatevs) I've been meaning to check out Courtney Barnett for a little while. I've heard a few of her songs, and "Pickles from the Jar" is a whole lotta fun and quite clever. Gonna have a proper listen I think.
