Sometimes I don't feel like reviewing a chapter of a novel I'm parenting. But them I'm like, "no, wait. I'm parenting this. I have to break the chain of bad parenting." And then I just get down to it. I write what I ike about it and then some stuff that I think could be better. That's what a review is about write?

That's a really good way to look at motivation for this.
I donno. To me a review has to really help develop not only the writer, since we're reading the same people so much, like telling them if they're misspelling a word all the time, or constantly have the same type of sentence, but it has to make them want to keep moving. We're reviewing to improve the entire novel by improving the writer. Nitpicks can be left to the rest of the people writing reviews to get it out of the green room.
We have to look at the bigger picture things. -
See when I say "things I like" I mean stuff about the storyline/plot or the characters or the pacing of the novel. Stuff like that. I dunno. IT works for me, so I thought I'd let you know.

Can I? Here: I'm rather proud of my novel, The Siege so far (though I notice I became better writer so far, but still it's quite fine), but it's read rather poor here on YWS. I wish I knew if it's because I'm bad or becouse its chaper's are really long. xD

My guess would be chapter length Alchemist. Most of the time people can sit through about 1500 words a "part" and then each chapter is multiple parts. Honestly though, novels are poorly read here all together.

I agree with Aley. I wouldn't want to read a chapter that long, personally. But I know it hurts the author when their work is poorly received. It's just that this place is a feedback centre and not a publishing centre...

But it hurts me to split chapter in the middle of happening, they have the flow only in one piece... But you are right. Though i did split one chapter into 3 parts, and each of them has 2000+ words. I have a problem, yeah? XD QQ

I have that problem too Alchemist. I've gotten a couple comments that say it was an odd place to end, or things like that because they're just reading a part and it's NOT where it ends. Aside from a disclaimer saying "This is not the end of this chapter, please wait for the next installment of the chapter before passing judgements on flow of the overall chapter." I don't know what to tell you.
In all honesty, this club should make up for some of that with the people who adopt a novel. They should be able to recognize that it's not a single chapter until you get to the next chapter being next. -
I have noticed that problem too, and may I say it's most common during the review days.

XD I mean, I'm really lazy when it comes to posting my story, let alone reading and reviewing Book Man...;
I've actually got some big revisions planned for Searching for Security, but I haven't started them yet. -le sigh- just not ready to break into that can of worms yet, you know?
