Brainstorming
This is how you create your ideas. Make a list of your thoughts on a piece of paper. Fill the whole page with ideas.
After words make a character sketch:
Name:
Age:
Personality:
Description:
Once your done, make a plan of what's going to happen in each chapter, that way, you can prevent writer's block.
Know the title of your story, before you write it, that way you can focus on that title.
Also know how the story is going to end, for instance in the story I'm currently writing, Vampirial, I know that two of my characters are going to perish.
That's all I have to say for today. -
I actually do all that already... EXCEPT for the chapter outlines. That's the one thing I never do, and it always comes back to bite me with writer's block and losing interest in what I'm writing. I really, really need to learn to do that... >.<
I do always plan out my endings, but the rest of the story... I basically just go with the flow—and it never works. I'm going to try it this time. Hopefully, it'll be a big help. *crosses fingers*

lostthought, do you really think it's good enough? I have a few concerns.
1. People have turned against the vampire genre and therefore might not want to read another vampire novel. I mentioned Vampiric to my mom, and this was the first thing she said. It's kind of true, too. Honestly I don't think I'd ever read a vampire novel unless it's Interview with the Vampire.
2. It might be too weird. I mean, there's brother-sister incest. People might get weirded out by it.
I don't want to publish something no one will read, y'know? *sighs* -

1. The best way I know is to get someone you know to read the book first. Tell them about it and say that it definitely isn't a twilight love story. If the first person likes it (and they should!) They will pass it on. If they don't like it, just try letting someone else read it. You had followers as you posted and you know that they loved it!
2. Says the person of a generation where I think they stare at horror movies all day. If they don't like it, tell them to read on to the end. Or direct them to the "I need to mature" line. Your choice. -

No, I haven't. Is it good? The only vampire story I've read is Interview with the Vampire. It's unbelievable... and disturbing. My God, Claudia was one of literature's greatest characters, IMO.
