do you like the novels and stories of sherlock by conan doyle? the unabriged ones.

Oh hell yeah. I've never gotten to picking up a Study in Scarlett, but the Hounds of the Baskervilles took a chunk of my childhood, though admittedly I didn't like the Valley of Fear as much as I should. I don't know, it sort of focused too much on the one other character than Sherlock (if I remembered correctly) for me to care. And the short stories! The Illustrious Client! The Crooked Man! The Naval Treaty! Aaaaah! So much love.

Also, has anyone read Neil Gaiman's a Study in Emerald? You know, HP Lovecraft and Sherlock Holmes mixed together with a big twist in the end? I absolutely adore that man.

The short stories are my favorites, especially The Dying Detective. That's the one story I really want to see mirrored in the show.

I didn't care for a Study in Scarlet much. Hound of Baskervilles is awesome, and I loved the Valley of fear. I'm not sure which one of the short stories is my favorite...
